You don't, if you know you're outmatched, can't win and will surely die to several enemies in better planes, just RTB. Sideclimbing puts you in the perfect position to do just that. Such is the dogshit nature of no-respawn gamemodes where even the smallest mistakes at the beginning can snowball into blowout losses, and it's why people have been advocating for proper EC for so long.

Even with both SL and RP talis, TT vehicles would suffer from the inability to research anything 2 or more ranks lower than themselves and the obvious elephant in the room that you have to somehow get to these vehicles in the first place. I think effectively giving the player a discount as a reward for getting to that point at all is fine and wouldn't put a dent into premium sales, after all premium vehicles are largely bought for a) grinding a tree from scratch OR b) gameplay, but almost never for farming SL as you can do that with any premium and don't need to go out of your way to get any specific one.

No. It doesn't even come with standard keybinds that allow you to be somewhat effective in a plane. Without someone to hold your hand or the mental fortitude to work your way through youtube tutorials (you won't know which ones are good though) you're completely fucked.
It gets worse at higher tiers because a lot of the comparatively newer mechanics are obscure even to a lot of long term players. The lock characteristics of TV/IIR guided weaponry for example are arcane knowledge to many players, and I've met many that didn't even know that the game showed you what kind of lock you had with the POINT/TRACK display, or what that means.
