Ranged weapons don't do much for arbitrator because your melee already kills armor fast. The shotgun fucking annihilates entire corridors and clowncars. With enough cleave you can fire it roughly at head height and kill a dozen shotgunners in a single shot, no hyperbole. The stun shells provide a lot of safety against crushers that would otherwise mulch your retards. You don't need a gun for snipers if you have the dog, but it still kills them semi-efficiently. It also does very good damage against monsters.
You have what is basically the best gun in the entire game, and the only support you need is cleave. Taking the reload damage talent at the top for pathing isn't giving up anything substantial, and the reload aura gives it obscene DPS if you decide to take that, too.

Actually that changed some time ago. Any rending above 100% now gives a slight damage buff(IIRC it's like +5% at max uncanny stacks, so not much but not completely useless).

Pretty sure push cleave isn't enough, you need Forceful too, which stacks up to near infinite cleave.
You're gonna want Scattershot for crit and Full Bore for raw damage. They do not conflict, and are the strongest blessings on the gun overall.
Crit in general is extremely important.
Unyielding and flak are the best perks on it.

Sorta. I often have a 50/50 split between melee and ranged damage in auric because I shoot a lot, but in havoc, you have to use it differently. It's more of a stun tool and occasional ranged damage in havoc, and cleave loses a bit of value here. Its role changes a lot mostly due to having retardedly good ammo economy thanks to small ammo pickups restoring all your special shells, but you can't exactly spam it for damage anymore.

The laspistol has high enough crit chance to begin with and it's a weapon with a high finesse multiplier and pinpoint accuracy, so the extra crit chance from WS isn't that important compared to the massive finesse strength bonus you get from MMF. Its incredible ammo economy is also reliant on taking shock trooper because of its high crit chance. Without that node it isn't actually all that great. WS lends itself best to melee focused builds with high damage guns you fire every now and then, if you want to be shooting a lot it's much better to path towards the left keystone.

It is actually very easy to make UE5 work well. You just need to know when to use Nano (or don't), and make use of Nvidia's fork of it instead of the base engine. They have their own proprietary solution to lighting that isn't Lumen, and it works significantly better. It's also, like UE5, completely free. It's not bad, and I accepted the guy for having the balls to bring it into havoc 40, so he's obviously confident enough to be a better player than the infinite number of plasmatroons that contribute jack shit. I still felt the 3-4 snipers, bombers and trappers that were frequently alive for far too long because nobody had any real ranged special killing power, and psyker bubble was the only reason they never became too big of a problem. We also got lucky with a relatively low concentration of shooters.

Putting on exp curios and playing quickplay makes a huge difference. Forcing your weapon to level up via crafting makes a huge difference. By the time you unlock damnation, you have more than enough skill points to make a competent build, and damnation is challenging enough while still being forgiving enough to allow you to experiment or farm penances.
It's really not a big deal. You'll probably end up learning more about what skills are good or what stats are important while leveling the class, than you ever will consuming some dogshit guide made by a retard.

Ogryn naturally takes brittleness and Skullcrusher on the good weapons, arbitrator's best weapons don't really have easy access to that. Monstrosities aren't usually a big deal anyway, I'd rather have a competent ogryn than some boltgun magdumping arbitrator that does little else useful because everything dies too quickly for shock mines to matter.

Arbites is more agile and arguably lot more tankier than ogryn is thanks to all of the damage reduction he gets.
He also has similiar amounts of stagger as ogryn which lets him bully even havoc crushers around easily, especially if you take Concussive.
Also then you get the dog which just negates mutants and dogs, while also being a passive 200k damage, and is also yet another passive source of stagger and crowd control.
AND you then also get shock mines which quite literally a pocket smite that locks down an infinite number of enemies for 15 seconds, which enables arbites to be much better at crowd control too.

Only thing ogryn currently brings to havoc is rumbler and being and aggro bitch, while arbites does all the same jobs as ogryn does but better and without suffering the ogryn's draw backs.

I don't know what it is about arbitrators, but they're terrible players more often than not, likely because they were carried by shock mines and don't know how to play without them. I've met plenty of reliable ogryns, but I've only seen 2 good arbitrators, one of which was an ego tripping cunt who crutched too much on his individual skill and forgot that soloing havoc is borderline impossible by normal means.
