Every difficulty can be completely neutered by fully investing in Defense. At that point it doesn't matter what the difficulty is because literally nothing can kill you.
Master Mode does not make anything harder. It makes things take longer, which is not true difficulty. Damage sponges are not difficult, they are tedious.

Hey all, host here. Calameme ended as it usually does in multiplayer, the server getting raped by the Stormweaver and magic storage clogging up a bunch of memory. Gonna try a very vanilla+ esque modpack, Terraria Origins and Spirit mods, minimal QoL bloat, aka no fargos or luiafk. As well as a few surprises sprinkled in that won't break the game (Until Waterbolt finds a way).

I think Path of Modifiers is just a little absurdly overpowered with the sheer DPS a good (not perfectly optimized, just good) build can bring to a fight
Through the power of stacking modifiers and knowing what modifiers to roll for (and having virtually free rerolls thanks to modifier fragments being easy to farm since I could kill eyes of cthulhu in under 20 seconds with my godroll minishark) I was able to get my starcannon to do like 13x the DPS it'd normally be able to through a combination of the weapon modifiers, gear modifiers/innate stat buffs, and the Weakpoint Analyzer turning ammo conservation chance into a 2x damage boost and effectively giving me 2.456x damage output - even before that it was doing ~5.2x its base DPS

Let me reiterate
With just some simple understanding of how the path of modifiers mod works and enough rerolling, you can get weapons to deal over 5x the DPS they normally would, before accounting for certain broken items from other mods

So to avoid trivializing the difficulty you'd probably have to set the server's difficulty to legendary via a for the worthy seed, and I don't think it's a good idea to balance the server around one guy naturally stumbling upon a broken combination and bringing game balance to its knees

Thus I'm asking to remove that mod, both so that I can have an actual challenge without shooting myself in both feet, and because it tended to devolve the process of getting good stuff into spamming suspicious looking eyes for fragments to reforge weapons and equipment into godrolls (or buying and selling something from a NPC repeatedly until you get a good roll like I did with my 2x dps crowd control minishark which I got to deal like 700+ DPS), rather than actually exploring the world and fighting new things

oh I just went to bulbapedia, grabbed the gen 1 sprite for sandslash, copied and pasted it into paint.net, and enabled the grid and copied from there
regarding determining how many resources I needed, I painstakingly selected every cluster of identically colored pixels via the magic wand tool, shift clicking to add them all to the same selection, then I copied those to their layers to count how many tiles of each color I'd need
for a 48x47 sprite I'd need 2256 total wall tiles to fill in the entire "canvas" - of which there were 5 types I used (glass for background, cloud for white, sandstone brick for light, wood for dark, stone for black; since GB sprites only used 4 colors I only needed 4 total for the pixel art itself)

there's definitely a more efficient way to do it out there, and i suggest looking for a guide made by someone who actually creates pixel art somewhat regularly

One thing I often do when I build things is that I use certain elements as a reference for position and count instead of counting them manually, like how in the house on the right the cactus aligns with the chimney. I got the idea from kanji stroke order where many parts of the symbol end up being a reference for other strokes.

Apparently the cause of this was because I was trying to craft something that required a vanilla item and I had a different yet identically named and very similarly looking weapon from path of trash because yeah that mod totally isn't bloated when it has items that not only completely overlap with vanilla items but are just worse versions of the original that you can't even craft into better ones
