Their development is rather slow however, since they're all passion projects (e.g. the one making a pre-REBUILD version of the game with free class selection, another doing something similar but with classes being fully reworked so that each circle functions as a single core class without mixing/matching)

I hate the naming system in this game. Starting a new account and I can't find a free surname. Forcing the player to use a team name makes the decision feel much more important. It's tied to every one of your characters and if it doesn't match with whatever character names you choose it will look much more stupid than any singular name. Koreans are retarded.

The popups, daily bonus calendar, and automatic guild signup made me remember how offputting modern MMOs are. I don't know how game devs think any of that garbage is a good idea.

The short answer is that most non-asian devs know this.

The long answer is that FOMO makes the player numbers look better (even if most people do dailies for 15-30 minutes before logging out) and the popups easily drain money from the weak-willed. It doesn't help that certain games (mainly korean and chinese games) are actively encouraged to do this because the culture views spending money on the game as being invested, with paying for power being an "acceptable" alternative.

Yeah, some people got uppity at some of the dev's changes and because he got sick so he hasn't been active recently. It got bad enough that he considered locking down the server.
Some of the criticism is fair, but that doesn't excuse their behavior. Spergs were actively sitting in the discord acting as antis actively telling people to abandon the server and getting into slapfights with the jannies. This is for a server so raw that you can't make an account without dev assistance yet, because there isn't a website for it.

That said, the server's main issues are clear alpha/beta shit so idk what they were expecting. The account thing alone made it seem like it would be more of a testing environment than anything else.
I'm having fun playing it, but I think most anons wouldn't enjoy it atm unless they're okay with submitting bug reports and treating it as a sidegame. The discussions earlier in the thread (several months ago wew lad /vm/ truly is a dead board) more or less cover it; both servers need more time in the oven, the main difference is Seeds hasn't touched everything yet while Laima outright blocks the untouched stuff.

They merge the Servers into one on 15th July. People say you have to login before that or the account will be gone. So if anyone here still cares a little, login once before 15th. Maybe have to remove old mods or just reinstall full.

I logged in to stop them from deleting everything, and I woke up with no clothes in the middle of the woods, surrounded by game bugs, getting spammed by error messages like this. After having to type in the phrase and free up several hundred inventory slots I found my clothes all the way back in the city in the market NPC's retrieve tab. Very nostalgic.

I was expecting to log in to find the guild either auto-deleted long ago or hijacked or something, but Futureproof still technically exists in the future, and the guild bank didn't even get looted. Everyone's (45 accounts still in the list) last login dates are multiple years in the past. Lolipan got renamed to Roripan and logged in 32 months ago. Half the guild list had their names turned into blank space. It was like visiting a museum.

I thought Klaipeda would be a ghost town, but there were surprisingly a lot of people there. FullMoonCafe was active and friendly, so anyone who actually plays this can join them.
