Tabletop Simulator
>What is Tabletop Sim
TTS is a physics sandbox game meant to be used to play board games online, you can find almost any board game for free in the Steam Workshop, or even create your own!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/Tabletop_Simulator/

Hosting is as easy as just opening a lobby and getting the game's workshop item. Post your favorite board games, discuss and play with other anons. Find games in the Workshop (https://steamcommunity.com/app/286160/workshop/) and discuss/host your favorite games!

Of course, if you prefer to play board games through other platforms, like Tabletop Playground, Board Game Arena, or game's digital editions, feel free to talk about and find other players here!

>How do I play?
Controls are mostly straightforward and intuitive, but there's always little tips and tricks to learn, more info can be found at https://kb.tabletopsimulator.com/

>How do I join?
That's easy, you click on "Join" in the main menu, search for the lobby name and password that's been posted, and done!

>How do I host?
Click on "Create", and that's basically it. You can find free games in the workshop here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/286160/workshop/

It's designed for single-player, and every cooperative board game ever is just a single player game where you just pretend otherwise the entire time.
>and in the campaign, they even compete against one another
And in Call of Duty 4, you can play a gamemode called Old School where the game is altered as much as possible to play in a similar fashion to arena shooters, but you'd be similarly laughed out if you tried to call the whole package an AFPS just because of one mode.

Try harder next time, little bro, or maybe just go back to >>>/tg/ with this shit
or better yet, maybe /v/, because the fact that I even have to explain this to you kinda shows that you aren't even actually playing the games.....think you'd fit in a little more with THAT crowd as a result.........

I said it before and I'll say it again, Ra is just too Raw. The theming does very little for it, and the auction doesn't really feed into any other system, so it can easily start to no longer feel like an actual game and instead "just" an auction--which is a shame because the mechanics of the auction are cleverly designed and it deserves its long-standing presence amongst people that really dig that sort of thing.

western legends is a 1/10

i do not recommend to play.

by turn 5 you have already done everything the game has to offer, there is no thinking past turn 5 you just repeat what you have already done with until the game is over, almost like a script.

there are games that are wide as a puddle deep as a ocean but this is not one of them the rules are basic but so are the decisions you have to make.
this game should be 20 mins max not 2 hours

if I had to choose between putting my balls into the mouth of a goat or playing western legends
I would choose the mouth of the goat.

Marco Polo is a tight as fuck game, and I don't mean "tight" as in the compliment slang, I mean you literally have to plan your entire game on turn 1 because there are a ton of things to do and not enough turns to do them. That aspect throws me off a lot. Too strategic.

GAH on the other hand is 100% tactics. Oh shit some extremely retarded Emperor card popped up, what do we do? Zero planning, all reacting to the moment. Love me GAH fr fr ong

So yeah the Decrypto mod has a big error where it completely skips a team's own encryption if intercepted (meaning they can't get a miscommunication token even if they are wrong), hopefully one of our helpful anons can take a crack at it and fix it. Also apparently there's 369 words in the list out of the 440 words in the real game, though the real game uses 2 sided cards that contain 4 words each, so some combinations are impossible

So basically, team NS that game on round 5.

No it's a 1v3 deduction game with a time travel theme. Everyone knows which player is the bad guy.
The 3 players on a team are trying to find out what their objective is and what levers the 1 has to mess with them.
The 1 player by themself is trying to prevent the team from discovering their objective before the game clock runs out.

The only Higurashi element is time travel and one sub plot that is literally just Hinamizawa syndrome. It works perfectly in TTS since you're not allowed to table talk in general anyway unless the GM is lenient, but unless you're in voice chat you should give extra time between loops for table talk since everyone has to type over each other.

There are also some 5-6 player house rules in the unlikely event that you get that many people who want to play at once. I have a 6p table but I haven't added all the scripting and setup to it yet.

>Ark Nova takes 1 hour on BGA
It's a very competitive game on bga so players maximise their moves and rush for game end, plus the automation of things to keep track of speeds it up considerably. I can see it lasting 1 hour or so on there
I was talking about Arcs though, I don't think the average game takes less than 90 minutes, i played one last night and we ended the game prematurately (i let somebody win by not stealing the ambition from him, cause it was getting late) at chapter 4, and that was at the 3 hour and 15' mark with 4 players IRL

Basegame Arcs (with or without Leaders & Lore) can if everyone plays fast and thinks less. Blighted Reach is at least three times that, usually even longer, because despite having less actions total per Act, the amount of choices and negotiation it leads to more than makes up the time you would've saved.

Anonymous No.1893068 [Report] >>1893083

Bags can be set to "first in last out" or "first in first out", Decks operate in both modes simultaneously depending on how you interact with them. For example, holding one card with LMB+RMB to slide it under the deck will add it to the bottom of the deck, but just dropping it will add it to the top; that is, if the facing matches, if you try to put a face-down card into a face-up deck it doesn't let you. Decks and other decks can also be stacked if the facing matches, but the slide trick doesn't work as RMB while holding a deck just ejects the bottom card (bags have similar behavior of placing one component out if you hold LMB + tap RMB). So, if you have one stack you can't shuffle and that needs to be on the bottom, just take the rest that needss to go above it and place it above, no faffing about needed.

>>1893037
Maybe they're not just bags, maybe they have more code, maybe they're actually different but use similar functions and thus share some interactions like the abovementioned hold LMB + tap RMB trick, or using number keys to draw a number of objects. If you want the technical details, ask the devs, not us random fools.
Anonymous No.1893083 [Report]
>>1893068
>Maybe they're not just bags, maybe they have more code
Decks are mostly just bags, yeah. Depending on whether they're bags, stacks, or decks, they're all classified as containers and have access to most of the same member functions and variables. There's just a few exclusive ones for different types, and some different defaults
