Whales speedrun ilvls and combat power, but free players can still catch up—grind or swipe, your choice.

New players: Blindly applying in party finder can hit gatekeeping, but chill groups exist. Everyone has revives now, wipes are less brutal, and Mokoko icon shows for characters ≤1689.9 (gives all party members Mokoko leaf, easing gatekeeping). Only the last Act 3 raid at 1680 ilvl ignores it.

Reminder that we used to have 5 regions, 14 servers each (pic related).

We're currently down to 3 regions: NAW (2 servers), NAE (5) and EUC (5), see https://www.playlostark.com/en-us/support/server-status.

NAW and NAE are merging in October, they will likely end up with 3 servers max because there simply aren't enough players to populate more.

Active concurrent players have gone down from 1.3 million to 13 thousand (and that's on a good day).

The only thing that keeps Lost Ark going are mentally ill whales, but those are increasingly leaving too (our biggest whale streamer shill quit LA to play ZZZ lol!).

End of service is coming (Lost Ark Japan already shut down), likely this year, and nothing can stop it.

Valk gives the least MP regen among the supps. Same MP regen on the AP buffs as pally, which is less than Artist/Bard.
Pally/Valk close the gap somewhat by having MP regen from their identity buff. However, Valk's identity uptime is the lowest of all supports according to current data. Possibly due to a combination of being a new class, not maxed leap karma, etc. Probably also by design too since she has a partial identity buff at 100% uptime.
Or maybe you were unlucky enough to run into the 2-3% of supp Valks running the CD reduction tripod instead.

The tripod is the same as pally, it gives 50% MP regen AND 8% atk speed. People aren't choosing between one or the other. The other tripod that a very small percentage are using on Seraphic Leap is the CD reduction one.

It's a temporary 8man gold raid with 1 gate. The gold reward varies a bit based on luck but it replaces either Aegir HM or Brel NM for gold.
Act 2 solo isn't even out in KR and probably won't be announced until maybe the next LOAON.
It's basically a filler raid. The schedule made more sense in KR where it came out 2 months after act 3, ran for 3 months, then Act 4 released 2 months later.
Apparently we're only getting 1 month of Strike raid and Act 4 before end of year. Plus our Strike raid is releasing 3 months after Act 3.

yeah theres plenty, but everything under T4 content is completely dead, so gotta do solomode until you reach that, when you hit 1620, you do a quick dungeon a few times to get 1640 gear, which is when "endgame" starts. Was there a reason you didn't use the powerpasses we have? You're looking at probably atleast a month of story+grinding before you hit 1620

Everyone I knew that made a slayer ended up dropping her for various reasons. One thing is that she's a back attack class, which might be annoying for a sorc player. Going DPS valk would at least keep the non-positional playstyle.

Are there even skimpy swimsuit designs left that aren't just prism wear or urban wear but smaller? Only one I can think of is that square microbikini, like the cow print one from Vindictus.
Vindictus (and Nikke recently) has shown that even Korean companies can go as far as reverse bunny suit covered only by pasties. So I guess there's that option when SG becomes desperate enough. They'd just have to make the pasties summer/beach themed.

5/3 is fairly easy to get, 5/5 is doable but only go for it if you dont have other chars that need to get 40 set, they do thankfully give out some free event ones you can tap if you already used the main 5/3 box we got

This raid system still allowing for jails is pretty bs. The game focuses on raiding as the primary content but puts so many restrictions on raiding at the same time.
Got some free time and want to help fill in a prog/learning group? Better hope they fully clear before someone has to leave. Otherwise you'll be g2/3 jailed and probably miss out on some rewards for the week.
Someone d/cs or leaves for whatever reason after g1? Prepare to spend hours finding a replacement if you find one at all.

I'm hoping SG figures some shit out with the theme changing towards adventure/exploration and more horizontal focus. Find a way to prevent busser abuse and let us have gate resets or something. It's not a mystery why gatekeeping is so harsh when nobody wants to risk losing their weekly raid reward.
Though with this director's track record so far, I don't see him doing a actual major rework of the raid system in the near future.

The early T3 content is really outdated and shit. If you want to go through the stuff without the powerpass I think you're going to get stuck around 1415ish item level.
I think you'll have to get your own fusion materials so you'll have to use your farm to make bound ones, or get some gold from the adventure gold island and use that gold to maybe sell some white / green timber for a bit of gold.
Honestly I'd just recommend playing until you get a feel for it; try out some classes and if you think you've found something fun use the pass on it when / if you get stuck.

I don't mind using the power pass/Arkesia tour. I just want to play through the main story and some side content that interests me. I heard that using the pass makes some quests unavailable on alts, and the tour skips huge amount of side content.

Yeah it does complete a lot of the story, if you want to do it yourself just keep following the main story. I'd try and hit the adventure islands when it's a gold island to get a bit of unbound gold so you can list things on the market, and work on some life skills. Most people seem to do logging these days as it's one of the fastest if you do it with 2 people. Sell whatever you can on the side to save up some gold for when you need it.
Other than that hopefully you don't get stuck on an abyss dungeon step or something. I don't remember if there are any mandatory group dungeons on the way; if there are it might take a while to get a group for it since it's basically dead content. Once you get to solo mode raids it should be fine; it will just take a while.

I believe you can get the normal white timber and the green timber. Both of those will sell since it's needed to make fusion material. It just wont make a ton.

Another option is to just use the Powerpass/Arkesia Tour on your main server. Get your character set up to at least start building up some resources since most activities are timegated.
Then set up a character in another server (can be within the same region) and go through the main story and side content at your own pace there. Story progress is not shared between servers.
You receive 2 powerpasses during this period which is already enough to get started as a new player. It's no big deal to leave the character behind in the other server after finishing the story. If you end up taking too long to go through the story, you'll miss out on some of the time limited progression boosts.
