I'm enjoying the original material tied to the main story so far. While some stuff from the original game is very condensed like the Junon infiltration or Cid's encounter in Rocket Town, CC did add a few things to make it more interesting and the story of TFS is basically what i wanted from a prequel. Even the solo chapters which are adaptations from the novels aren't too bad.
The seasonal/crossover events are a coin toss, i liked the ones about MH and FFVI, but stuff like the summer events of last year or the spring break of planting crops in the desert felt shallow. As mentioned, the school AU would have been more enjoyable if the text wasn't automated but it's still a neat idea to take advantage in a fun way of the multiverse madness the Remake games have unleashed on us.

Unfortunately, the gameplay at this point is too much of a mess like >>1762210 said. Thankfully if you only care about the story, the devs made sure to make the mandatory fights piss easy to deal with, so if you have time to waste, give it a try.

There's something weird about the GB priority of your units, during Escalation my units at least tried to do the extra sigil mechanic some, in the first phase they went full 100% on both, then they just did like 70% for the second one so I had to spam the materia myself because there were still like 8 seconds left before it failed, but in GB they are ignoring it completely, I have to put manual on or they just instantly break the diamond sigil with not a single triangle materia casted and force me to micromanage Lucia and Aerith to actually do their job (they have 3 triangle materia each and Aerith would rather spam Riot Blade), I couldn't get the timing right the first time and only did 20M, then I barely broke both the next time and did 75M, it's a good thing I'm in a shitter guild where no one cares how hard I griefed but Applibot are a bunch of fucking morons for implementing a mechanic that doesn't work with their dogshit "AI"
