It's neat when all 5 star weapons help you and you have lots of things on your Wishlist. Eventually you get caught up though and then it sucks but we can't seem to break away yet.

I'm enjoying the original material tied to the main story so far. While some stuff from the original game is very condensed like the Junon infiltration or Cid's encounter in Rocket Town, CC did add a few things to make it more interesting and the story of TFS is basically what i wanted from a prequel. Even the solo chapters which are adaptations from the novels aren't too bad.
The seasonal/crossover events are a coin toss, i liked the ones about MH and FFVI, but stuff like the summer events of last year or the spring break of planting crops in the desert felt shallow. As mentioned, the school AU would have been more enjoyable if the text wasn't automated but it's still a neat idea to take advantage in a fun way of the multiverse madness the Remake games have unleashed on us.

Unfortunately, the gameplay at this point is too much of a mess like >>1762210 said. Thankfully if you only care about the story, the devs made sure to make the mandatory fights piss easy to deal with, so if you have time to waste, give it a try.
