I was curious and if my quick math is right if you wanted to evolve a Pick Up XXL character to 5 star you need 10 copies. In the worst case scenario where you don't get an XXL until the 80th Summon 50/50 and lose all of them the first time then get unlucky and have to summon another 80 times to get the character it should take 960 summons or 873 Golden Bells at most to get six copies then use 900 BP to get the last 200 Shards needed.
But if you just wanted to unlock their Sigil at 3 star it would take 480 summons or 437 Golden Bells for three copies and use the BP for the remaining Shards. That might be the most practical thing to do unless you want to make the character as strong as possible and unlock all their passives. Just depends on personal preference, how hard content will be, how many Golden Bells we get per month or so, and how fast they release new characters.

Anyway! His entire kit depends on an RNG dice roll to Paralyze units. The max chance of it happening is 80% when you level the skill up. There's also another 50% chance on attack to increase DMG on 1 (ONE) single target by 16% for 2 turns. Defending with him guarantees this buff. However, this is a game where there are multiple enemies in multiple waves thrown at you. Not very efficient, no?
The passive buff with him to increase wood buddies attack and all buddies attack percentages is probably the only reason you'd run him at all if you were forced to. But really, he seems easily replaced by a future unit.
Literally every other XXL in the game has SOME form of guaranteed benefit like buffing of healing or damage output in their kit, Khafka is like the beta test. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the first character they designed and then decided to buff up the other kits after.

Any recommendations on who to use generic M shards on? Both in gameplay and what types of side jobs get the most value out of boosting.
I really hope this game doesn't make the same mistake as other gaychas and continues to produce M and L units along with XL and XXL. FGO did a very good job at making low-level units useable and interesting by giving them good abilities/passives and specific niche use-cases.

If you can beat 6-34, you can beat every single hardmode stage with no problem. Except maybe Beernox, since the big slimes are bulky.
For 6-34 use Code:B and a strong healer (I had Beernox 35, Meng 30, Code:B 30, Baade 35, Tayangsuyi 35 in that order). At minimum, defend on turns 8 and 16, the boss will use their special around that time. Other strong attacks are on turns 5 9 13 and 17. The boss has a passive that gives him a permanent attack boost for knocking out members of your party.
The thug's weakness is his jaw. Once you drop him down to 1 HP, it should trigger the minigame and then he'll delete himself.
Also, you need to eliminate the slimes first no matter what, they give the boss a damage reduction boost that makes him impossible to beat otherwise. Happy farming anon

Okay so my strategy (team in picrel) was to basically take down all slimes attacking normally with burst whenever available BUT guarding turns 5, 8, 9, 13, 16, 17, 21, 25 and 29. Basically just dodge "self-drawn win" and "eight flowers", anticipated by "not so cocky" and "mahjong ruler" dialogue respectively. Do prioritise your healing over your offensive.

Depending on your box, a nice auto party could go:
Slut 1: Support (Beernox or Dallawan)
Slut 2: Healer (Meng or Kantos)
Slut 3 - 5: Arrange as needed
Certain units like Guala and Tayangsuyi want to be at the end due to their skills or passives, while others like Code:B would work better in the third spot to inflict debuffs, allowing the rest of your line-up to go ham. Yuhyun can go anywhere, unless you want to plan around his AoE attacks.
Also, 3 star XLs will outperform 0 star XXLs. You've got two really good attackers and Kanto is a great healer worth the investment. I think if you have Code:B and Beernox, a good team you can make to clear all the story missions is:
Beernox | Kantos | Code:B | Yuhyun | Tayangsuyi
This way you can trigger Beernox’s passive, and you have elemental attacks that help cover all the boss types. If Beernox isn't available, I'd say pick him from your selector. Dellawan is also good, he's just not fully dedicated to DPS bursts, and more rounded to buff both ATK and healing.

Tanks are skippable. You want one great support (Beernox) and a good healer.
If Yuhee is at 2 stars, pair him with Ya so he can apply poison to the enemy team. You can replace Ya if Yuhee's at 3 stars, since at that point Yuhee can apply poison to the enemy team by himself.
The rest is pretty straightforward, attackers and vandals are both great for the last slot. Keep in mind that at 0 stars, an XXL is similar to a 1 star XL, 2 star L, or 3 star M. Baade, Tayangsuyi, and Yuhyun are all great, but they don't outperform the basic rarities until they hit 3 star. If one of those is close to 3 star, feel free to invest in them. If not, no problem in picking an L or M attacker/ vandal you like and maxing them out. It'll take a while to get XXL dupes anyway, and you'll max out a lower rarity quicker.
If you really like an XXL attacker/ vandal though, add them to the wishlist and go with your favorite. Baade and Tayangsuyi have the most potential. Yuhyun ain't bad, but he's got a stamina gimmick and it's hard to keep HP topped off since the AI likes to target highest HP first.

>>1773010Yes and no. Yuhee's passive is bugged to damage one unit for each member of the enemy team. So 5x times on Ed. Even at 2 star and level 40, my Yuhee only did between 10-15% damage due to the 80% damage reduction from the slimes.
I still cleared it by turn 9, but you'll end up knocking the slimes out before Ed since his damage reduction will remain in effect until the last slime is eliminated. This is due to Yuhee's basic attack being team wide. Since Ed will be by himself at that point, Yuhee's damage will go back to normal and he will just get the intended poison multiplier. Which is more damage, but not enough to one shot Ed.
Yuhee also needs to be at 2 star for the passive, and you'll need Ya in that case to apply poison.
It's all a good investment, but Ed's stage is more about defending on the right turns. Ctrl+F the thread for mentions of 6-34, several anons have come up with strategies on how to beat it that might help.

For some reason, the game doesn't recommend these stages when searching for limit breaking material. They drop every material of that grade and give 2-3 for each drop. So instead of spending 10 stamina for 0-1 drop of a specific material, you're spending 10 stamina for 0-3 of each material. (each have their own drop rate)

Water does have some very good healers and good support characters like Owlbert. I've found the strongest Water only team to be Code:B, Fogue, Jeffrey, Owlbert, and Meng. Owlbert's EX move is great for crowd control and his basic buffs allies.
Fire lacks a healer but has the heavy hitters like Tayangsuyi and Baade. Dallawan is one of the better supports in the game. Akaoni is actually the best tank in the game but tanks aren't very viable so it's whatever. The other Fire characters are really nothing special.
It's really a tossup between those 2 but I'd give a slight edge to Fire because characters like Baade and Tayangsuyi are so strong and great for taking out Wind enemies.

Also Fogue and Jeffrey are good options for that boss too. Fogue's EX skill will hit him twice and can do good damage while Jeffrey's cuts his attack power and deals damage
