Guardian Tales is a top-down action/adventure game with rich stories and fun puzzles. The game offers various game modes such as: coop game modes, special guild events (raids) and PvP (arena&colosseum).
The character portraits are nice and the combat/game animation are pleasant. The gacha is very generous for new players, but it can be a bit overwhelming for newbies to figure out what resources to prioritize through mid-end game.

Game went through 2 directors and is now on the 3rd one. Also the 1st one was ill for like half of the game lifespan, so it was hard for him to push new stuff from what I've heard.

What is a beth counter in arena? Every fucking team has one and if they do my team cannot kill her. Range chars are a joke when melee hit from just as far as range does. I already hated her in the story, she's even worse as a char

I think at this point GT is just a grift for cash and barely a game. The art is different, the game direction is different, the monetization is different. All for the worse.
I doubt there's anyone left from the original team left, nuGT is essentially a completely different game from old GT.

Yea imo w11 and the beth fight was the magnum opus at the time, insanely hard but really really fun. IK was cinema as well, and I liked MK2's helicopter sequence. The last world I liked was Demonshire, after that things went to shit.

Dark is probably the easiest one, remeber to read special rules in myth dungeons. For the dark one it's skill regen speed increase and skill damage increase.
So teams that focus on strong WS skills would be best.

Hey guys, decided to revisit GT again after 3 years cause I heard Beth got a new upgrade that's really good and she was my first and fav 3* ever back in the w11 release days. So I wanted to give her what she deserves
I just mythed her. I saw there are more hard content now, should I double down on one giga team and also myth Callie with Plague Doctor and Lilith/Karina to have one giga team that can clear stuff, or myth Eunha to start a basic team instead? I have to be picky cause the myth grind is just insane.
Btw I hear the game's in a pretty dire state? I did see so much shit has been changed it basically feels like a whole nother title. The UI is downright esoteric. And I fucking hate how they put a level cap on old worlds for no reason, one of my favorite things to do was replay the early story with my highest level unit.

Get Eunha and Daisy next if you want to have trio of best DPS, Tank, and Heal generalists. Other myth choices would depend on which kind of content you'd want to play, but those 3 are good everywhere.

That's what you get when you swap 3 directors back to back. I still enjoy story from time to time, but art direction is shit after Kong fired JP artist. And PvP is more whale focused now with 6 star heroes.

Thanks for the info. I don't plan to touch PvP at all if it's such a giga whalefest. Ironic because I used to mostly play PvP before I quit, when as a complete f2p I could still do pretty well (t100 colo and master in arena iirc). But there's no way I can catch up now.
Honestly I'll probably drop in like a week anyways, the game is too different to what I remember and way grindier. At least it'll be a last farewell for my favorite girl Beth and it was fun to pop in the thread like I used to for /gtg/. Cheers.

(Btw the person who swapped the old intuitive party system where you could quickly drag and drop characters to this dogshit "preset" system for everything should be taken out back and shot.)

Oldfag here, I left at the start of season 3 because the game was really going to shit. I genuinely felt eos was around the corner. How the fuck is this game still going? I'm honestly curious. Everything fell apart when the Season 3 update dropped. What's it like now? On the rebound? Or is it slowly dying? I can see, even for vmg, this general's fucking dead.

Nah we're still fucked. As someone else pointed out, the game is still hanging on because Kong's overhead cost is insanely low considering they have like 10 people working on GT. That's why shit takes forever to come out and content drought is the norm and why AI is used. They never expanded when GT was doing well and failed to capitalize on making the game bigger because of it.
Considering guilds have been constantly merging for the past few years, even among the top ones, it's safe the say we're approaching a slow death. Which is also why they won't invest in GT anymore besides more cashgrab mechanics, and the spiral continues. Season 3 has been the worst it's ever been.

Astrals in EU, and Softer in NA are basically the only ones left I think. Softer has a lot of people that aren't from here though, and a lot of inactives. Dunno about the state in Astrals.
Gtgbros died completely a long time ago, and the other small guilds that popped up for a while when GT was in its prime are dust in the wind.

Astrals is same deal. We have around 25% inactives. And like 50% of randos that basically do raid, so we stay in top 100 and get more gems. I wish more /gt/ folks came back, but I don't think it'll happen sadly.

I would say 1st and 2nd seasons are still worth it, and with powercreep you can clear them with relative ez. 3rd season is iffy. (Also a lot of good short and side stories, like HANA one)

Have you done side stories and short stories? I assume you did do nightmare in all seasons. If so the only things left are tetis, expedition and co-op if you want to do them (they also have some story bits).

The Challenger co-op is difficult if you are doing it with lower level jewel. Next coop comes with next patch btw. A bit sad it doesn't have tutorial, but that's what guild and chat is for :)
The 3 gimmicks so far In coop are: 1.Poison icon (on top of your character), almost all enemeis deal poison damage and you and your party hit by it will take %HP damage overtime unless healer of the team cleanses it with heal ability. 2. Burning circles, you need to stand on them to remove insane defense buffs from enemies. 3. Shield grunts, you need to lure them into rocks and focus them with WS skills after shield breaks. I may be missing some other stuff, but those are the core ones. Also try to stand behind tank.

Well, new coop is 3 stages instead of 4. Not sure if it's good or bad. Though I'd say the non boss stages are more involved and have some kind of strategy need to them. The story feels unconnected to the rest though.
Also, arena PvP now has a handy bar below HP that shows skill charge, very handy. I still hate arena though.
