I played this one, both the official US version where they fucking cheaped out and used crappy TTS instead of JP/CN voices, and the SEAfag version that actually kept the JP dub.
Not really worth playing long term though.The story's actually pretty good for an urban setting, it is nothing new but they did a good job with it.
But the grind and p2w are so fucking bad. You have to whale hard just to clear stages and actually read the story. Also the heavy censorship just made me quit.
FYI this game used to be 12+ in China because of Genshin's influence so it was super safe at the start. Only when it flopped did they switch to 18+ and uncensor everything even old outfits. But the global version didn't go all in on uncensored stuff, it's still a weird mix of censored and uncensored.
My rec is play it F2P for like a month then quit when you can't progress the story unless you whale.

Has there even been any attempts at it though? I've been in kusoge space for a decent time, started back in FGO/GBF days and I don't recall a big LADS type waifu game ever being a thing. Maybe I might've missed some lower profile thing but those most likely failed because of poor quality or marketing, not because of romance/harem genre.

I like gacha because of the building up my account and gambling aspect, plus it usually has some sort of social aspect to it too and drip of new content is kind of cozy to look forward too. I wouldn't mind playing a singleplayer dating sim either but I'm not into japanese VNs as they usually feel way too jap focused and for many you have to settle for ML translations too. Any western dating sim I see on GOG or Steam seems pretty fucking terrible, the main stream ones like doki doki or that matching game were either porn games or subverting expectations. I know about adult game industry but it's a rabbit hole I don't really want to fully get into, from what little I've seen of it it mostly seems to be dominated by degen shit like incest, brainwashing, ntr, and low quality writing made by some chud in a bedroom in syberia or india.
