Both look better. The previous art seriously lacked some dynamism. Ho-oh looked like he didn't even care to be there and the wings on the new one are more subtle while maintaining that similar arch. Lugia looked like some wojak basedfacing at the sight of Ho-oh or some boomer mad that some kid dared to step on his lawn. In the new art at least the two acknowledge each other and are even ready to fight, which is better if you're going to put them together in the animation. It's still not entirely game accurate but its a little more universal/smoothbrain proof since outside of some niche shit like scovillain they're probably not gonna do dual typed mons for a while so a mon ends up reflected by the type it is on any individual card mechanically which is why we have darkness type gengars weak to fighting since darkness in this instance is poison and fighting is ground. Play enough of it and it just starts to make sense I guess

Espeon is such a gate keeper, it has counters but its healing basically demands meta decks to have high damage output. Donphan was on track to be an excellent card but its damage is made irelephant by the 30hp heal every damn turn.
