NS1 or NS2 version
Serious question. Is the NS2 'upgrade' even desirable?
Is it really just an extra $20 for higher resolution and +30fps?
Isn't the NS1 version already running at stable framerates if you play it on an NS2?

I don't really have an eye for noticing these fine difference, but the switch 2 just nicer to play on imo.

But you can play the Switch1 version on the Switch2. Without paying for the $20 patch.

yup, literally 5 minutes of work for them and that'll be $20 + tip.

but then you can't play it at 60fps. (((they))) locked 60fps which is considered a minimum framerate for a decent experience nowadays behind a fucking paywall.

Honestly? Not really unless you really wanna play at 60fps. The main advantage is faster loading speeds imo, but the games surprisingly well optimised to begin with so its not that noticable

>but then you can't play it at 60fps.
And that's dumb as hell. But also who fucking cares?
Is the only difference truly just stable30fps versus 60fps? And you're paying $20 for that?
So if you don't mind 30fps then you'd be a fool to pay the $20?

Or are there other differences other than framerates?

Don't you get the full loading speeds from just playing the game on the switch 2? Does the $20 patch even improve the loading speeds?
Has anyone compared the loading speeds? If the switch 2 version has higher resolution, could the loading speeds perhaps be worse?

There are like a million Switch vs Switch 2 comparison videos out there. So it's kind of annoying that people aren't bothering to compare the game on Switch 2 and on Switch 2 without the upgrade.
Why do they just compare it to the old hardware?
Anonymous No.58443070 [Report]

I think an embarrassing number of people actually assume you need the switch2 version to play the game on the switch2.

tendies fear the 60 fps

>buy inferior old console version to save a negligible amount of money
Why bother?
Anonymous No.58443138 [Report] >>58443216 >>58443337

But the old console version still runs dramatically better on the new hardware.

Are you just making that up as an excuse? Everyone says Switch 1 version runs at stable 30fps, which means running it on Switch 2 will basically be the same with only minor improvements.

IMO, only if you own a Switch 2.

Don’t buy a Switch 2 only for this game. It’s not worth it.

Switch 1 version is hard capped to 1080p/30fps and since the Switch 1 itself can easily reach that, the only benefit of running the Switch 1 version on a Switch 2 is to negate some framerate dips. It won't fix the draw distance and pop-in issues either.

if you're some corporate shill, sure. Tbh, which we genuinely should be, most people don't see a difference between 30fps and 60fps. They're essentially the same.
>>58443020
The faster loading speed is like 2 seconds faster, and it's only cuz "60fps", so you don't get it just cuz you're on a Switch 2, sorry anon.

4K textures
Essentially no loading times

It's 10 dollars. What country are you in that it's 20? Even if you don't own a Switch 2 the red cart still runs on a Switch and you wouldn't have to deal with upgrade pack fuckery if you ever wanted to upgrade it. If you're going to buy the game physically anyways just get the red one.

The game runs better than I thought it would on switch1, even on handheld. But if I had a switch2 I would pay for the upgrade.

I'm playing it on the 1 and it runs good, that is good enough for me

Definitely not worth getting the switch 2 over this game specifically, it's not that great of a game

I don't have problems playing games on low framerates if those are stable, but if i have the chance to play at 60, I take it

Are you sure? Pokemon SV's draw distance and pop-in is massively better on switch 2.

Anything below 90 isn't worth playing.

wasn't that because of the free update?

Correct, SV's free patch was the one that got the most marketing.

I'm playing it on the OG switch and it's surprisingly running well. Might be the most optimized Pokemon game on the switch

If you don't have a Switch 2, of course it's not worth it. What the fuck?
