Still, it looks nice. Speaking of the PS2, I think the 3D GTA games are the only games you can actually switch the renderer to software mode on PCSX2 without it looking like pixelated garbage. Any other game I tried just looks terrible and has to be upscaled to atleast 1080p for them to look good. But the 3D GTA games somehow look better in software mode than their upscaled counterpart. Simply incredible.

it got rave reviews, multiplat releases , and flopped everywhere. it was the definitive proof that even if you make an innovative good game and market it, the gamers won't cum.

it was kinda the beginning of the end. after that most corpos devs and their investors stopped giving a shit about making anything good , and just make endless sequels and remakes. and when they do decide to make any new IPs; they hire the most woke morons to advise them and do market research with woke twits/social media ,who don't even buy games.

The game's narrative of hopelessness and being removed from society really resonated with me.

I've never given the third game a chance. I bought a boxed copy of the trilogy from a discount outlet store a long time ago, but I always wanted a boxed copy of overture from its original release. Luckily I was able to get one with out paying an obscene amount of money for it. The previous owner bought his game from a discount store too. Maybe Ollies. I'm pretty sure that's where I got Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Sometimes you could get some really good PC games for cheap in the early 2000's.
