Thinking MM after this and then maybe move to crusader of centy and right after alttp run (just found a copy cheap so gonna be real hardware and cart for centy def emulation or a everdrive type thing).

Pokemon with /vr/ on the coordinated playthrough thread, and Heroes of Might and Magic 2 (freeheroes2 project), Roland Campaign. H2 is just an incredible game, it gets so much right; Fantasy setting, pixel graphics, how the gameplay flows, the campaign, the FMV cutscenes. Just pure candy for PC gamers who love classic fantasy with knights, dragons and magic.

Weird that the ps2 version supports it and the Xbox doesn’t. I will say I also have the Xbox versions now but growing up I had the ps2 versions so I’ve logged in the most hours there. Usually I don’t have trouble going back to games and in fact find that I am usually better but not so w this or the nba street series. Don’t know why, maybe the competition between friends and the fact it was fresh and we still played games together back in the day instead of terminally online.

Oh no I meant that last part as a general statement because I had trouble hitting things with a controller, I used to not mind playing FPS games with a controller as a kid. I think only a few PS2 games have USB mouse and keyboard support like for example Half-Life, Deus Ex and Unreal Tournament. I think you can setup emulators in a way to use mouse and keyboard.

Oh okay I gotcha. I don’t mind games w a controller but I’ve played far to long the “optimized” controls so Timesplitters is difficult for me because it’s like a mix of auto-aim and lining up shots it’s like they couldn’t fully get away from goldeneye. I love the games tho even the first. I believe someone did port it to the pc as a passion project and u can “inject” m+k but im not in the know on that I’ve just seen other anons talk about it. I’d love to try all 3 on pc if there is a port for it something.

Its a first person dungeon crawler but your main character can use "The Cards" which are just elemental spells.
>>11909403
I'm on the last boss right now and my goodness it is the purest form of bullshit. The boss just arbitrarily casts a spell that nukes you for half your hp. My big gripe with this game is that its seemingly turn based but sometimes you'll take 2 turns in a row, sometimes the monster will take up to 3 turns in a row and there's no explanation why. So you'll be trading attacks and then suddenly you get hit for 3 turns worth of damage and its all over.

Besides the Saturn exclusive battle game, there are some notable differences. There’s some different voice acting takes from Barry. When he saves Jill from Plant 42, he says “what the hell is this place anyway…?” In a more calm tone. In the cutscene where Wesker blackmails Barry, you can actually hear Wesker and Barry rather clearly, as if they’re in the guardhouse basement, rather than the dormitory room. Japanese Saturn Biohazard has zombie limbs stay on the ground, that detail only appeared again in the PC version and not in any other version of the original. Though the zombie sounds are off, they switched the attack and downed sounds with each other.

I prefer the first-person view of Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, and Rogue Agent generally, but I'm not liking how RA seems to be just a run-and-gun game without any stealth aspect. Not very 007.
Everything or Nothing felt really clunky and the auto-aim sucked, but at least you could still be sneaky and use gadgets and stuff.
Anonymous No.11911219 [Report]

I believe rogue agent is where ea diverted resources from time splitters, you know the og creators of goldeneye, to RA and then still wrecked their shit when both games came out so while I remember trying the game I def had more than just a little impartial since I hated the fact that it was called goldeneye and shared absolutely nothing in common w it when TS was basically a spiritual sequel

>Amazy Dayzee are easy to exploit for quick level ups.
>Pit of 100 trials does not check for badges, if you are over leveled, you can get to the bottom without triggering a single encounter.
>New Game + carries over endgame stats, except, it fucks up and only keeps HP and FP, you start with 3 BP.
>NG+ also lets you keep your badges, and the ones you had equipped remain equipped, due to the 3 BP thing, you cannot turn on any badge now.

Vagrant Story for the past couple of hours. With voice acting it would probably be the kinoest game I've played. Absolute master work.
BUT I can't believe how poor the UI is. I spent so much time in there I almost forgot the kino. It's pretty hard too, got me wondering if I should be doing something clever but no, just "menu & slash" I guess. Like with the ghost I figured I have to evade until the timer runs out lol

Also if the game is just this dungeon crawling and menuing.. meh

Indeed... they sadly did, with PES2015 they finally introduced microtransactions, a lot later compared to most companies to be fair, but it made them enough money to eventually scrap PES altogether and go for eFootball, a F2P mobile title on consoles, where there are basically no offline modes, not even Master League, no way to play a World Cup, nothing... and the worst is knowing that, if they haven't gone back to PES, it's because this is making them 10x more money, today's industry is so sad.

Luckily this is determined per scene, so you can just save before the next area and reload if it's the wrong set.

I continued playing, and feels like Vagrant Story is one of those games that needs a good night's sleep to let all the new information sink in.
Still, now the game introduced item crafting, and after 10 minutes of deciphering the menus I came to the conclusion that there isn't even anything worth tinkering with.
Block puzzles are fun. Had to think with one already, so that's a good sign.

A remaster would be good. Today they could fit more information on the screen and make the UI faster and convenient.

It's a PC game. All I did was get a GOTY image, install and throw the modernizer patch on it (you have to add it as a module in the launcher). Also run it as admin, otherwise it will crash on startup. If you have potato that is using intel for graphics, you'll want to tick an extra option in the menu (can't miss it, mentions Intel by name).

Wouldn't personally worry about finding all intelligence collectibles. Mostly flavor, but it does decide your spy rating at the end of a mission. 1 mission (safecracker) has a bug where a set doesn't seem to spawn 1 item that should appear in both sets, but if you are a completionist you'll have to replay for the other anyway so you can get it then. That does mean you won't be able to get the best rating if you get that set.

There is a PS2 version. This adds 3 flashback missions, but apparently makes some secret areas and intelligence inaccessible due to a lack of loadout customization and further splits larger levels. I've never played that version personally though.

Roster is revenge tier if you go and decode it
>insomuch as you can have a hogan vs baba match, inoki v Terry funk etc
https://prowrestling.fandom.com/wiki/WCW_vs._the_World/Roster
Gameplay is very solid with a 3 tier grappling system
> (strong, medium, light grapples)
It's 1 player mode is very deep
>to unlock the 8 hidden characters you have to beat 6 league challenges with a lightweight and heavyweight, then the two extra leagues
>tourney mode/custom leagues
Missing any multiman matches
>no battle royales, no tag matches
Belt creation and title changes
>which wouldn't be seen in a NA VPW game until mania 2000
I wouldn't put it over World Tour or Revenge, but it's not SF1 tier and if you like VPW Aki games or only have a ps1/2/3 and no N64 I'd say 100% buy it and play it. Even if you want multi-player the belt system would be fun with friends around.

Okay quick tip, to get the extra 2 league challenges you need to beat the 6 other league challenges with a heavyweight and a junior weight (over 225 lbs, under 225 lbs). But they have to be the same character to unlock them, not just a different heavy/junior weight. And the game predates world tour/revenge and that is apparent graphically over anything else.

The first snes goemon game is a isometric/sidescrolling hybrid action platformer. The rest are sidescrolling action platformers. The early YGO plot checklist. The AI is now sending out units, but very predictably. They can change target holdings if you get other higher priority ones, but I've only had 1 map where they actually attacked multiple holdings instead of conga line towards 1 holding where they feed your overleveled general. They don't even send someone for empty holdings.

The battles just become a bit more spongy until you get high enough level for special moves on select units, these take 2 AP (from both units if it is a combo move). During the midgame they use full heals, but they stop doing that near the later missions?

I'm still on the fence. Apparently beating a campaign will globally up enemy levels, so I'll see if that's just a timesponge or real difficulty increase.

That actually is pretty wild for the 80s, or maybe everyone could just take a joke back then? I was born in 85 so I didn’t start making memories until 89-90 and we were definitely in ‘pc’ mode which precluded ‘woke’ mode. Is it just novel for its funny racism?

It had a bartop model, so you'd probably see it at a bar next to the gambling machines which does explain how it might get away with it. Most jokes aren't particularly bad, for example Poles have external toilets on planes because they are poor luddites. Then that gets followed up with bangers like picrel. Blacks do seem to get it the worst, but there are some tame ones like the only French they know being "coupe de ville".

The game itself is just a quiz where you pick the right punchline. You do have other categories like: dirty-nasty, famous folks, jumbled jokes and working world. Obviously a racism category is a rare in a quiz game so I had to pick it.

What you really want do do is not worry about your first life and fly through and worry about all the missile turrets around the first big area you spawn in, then you bomb all the laser turrets and the receptor things. then you fly under the bridge thing by the base with the Bonus and blow up the missile turrets, the buildings, collect the bonus and go past the bridge, in the middle there are two missile turrets, take them out and then go in a circle and blow up the lasers and the rest of the things. If you're fast enough, your ally Y-Wings will still be alive and they'll blow up most of the spinning things on the platform that are a bitch to shoot. That's the key to getting the Gold on that mission, but your run has to be like, speedrunner perfect, which is why I reset so much on a real cartridge. That one is a real bitch.
>>11938939
Yeah on my Genesis and my Famicom Everdrives you can select a rom, and next time you reset the system, it will already be on that game and you can just hit A to boot into it. I know about the Favorites menu but you have to tab over to it, you can't just spam A or Start. I recommend Battle For Naboo if you haven't played it. It is like Rogue Squadron but has more of an emphases on ground vehicles, though there are plenty of levels where you use the Starfighter.

like FF, the games aside from 1-3 are loosely connected. but even then, i'd recommend playing the DQ3 SFC release to get a good idea on what it's all about. even compared to the modern console versions, it's the definitive version to play it imo. you can also try out DQ5 or DQ8 for a more guided, story driven adventure than freeform if you prefer that. personally for DQ5, i'd recommend the DS version instead as the most feature rich version or the PS2 version for the best version of its soundtrack and its in 3D

I DID just beat Megaman Legends 1, that was great. Never played it before so I was able to concentrate on it without getting distracted swapping games. I've beat all the others I mentioned countless times before. I have this weird problem now where I hesitate to progress far in games I've already completed, cause I don't wanna skip over the "fun" I guess? I don't get it myself, it's weird. Great music, there's a hidden sound test and it was one of the games whose music I liked so much I hooked my snes to my stereo and recorded the boss themes to cassette tape. The one thing I could never get is why 90% of the spells are just named like "Attribute 184" and shit like that. At best I would have figured it might be some kind of boolean algebra, like programming bitmasks 1 is fire, 2 is water, 4 is earth, so 1|4==5 fire+earth magic, but no that isn't it, it's just fucking weird. So you have to play through it w some website or app that tracks it like a book club type thing except randomized? Sounds like maybe they should have limited the list that’s barely a game. The idea sounds good but maybe you should get like 3 re rolls or passes or something so if you get a real shit roll you can move on.

It's a personal list as there's no decent site for rolling. The source I used for IBM PC is primarily a games database, so it's not like I can roll Lotus 1-2-3 or visicalc. If it has some minigames it slots into edutainment though. It's not like they take long and it is a bit nostalgic for me, so I'm not too bothered to re-roll.

Version differences changes what you can catch, and where too. Dont sleep on the new mons, some of em are pretty good.

If your pc has wifi built into it, you might be able to do the mobile hotspot thing with your phone, for setting up then doing trades or battles. Not ideal, but itll do.

Isn't Wii running on an almost 1:1 gc?

It's slightly better. You get less frame drops on the wii.

Beat Shadow of Rome a while back along with some other games. Was pretty fun despite the kinda boring stealth sections. I finished it on Normal difficulty and earned a gold medal in each gladiatorial event, but there’s a lot to replay for (Hard, Extreme difficulty, purchase all of Octanivius’ decorations, earn 1 of each Salvo, survival mode, etc.) Good game

Now grinding 1,000,000 dollars in Simpsons Road Rage to unlock the last cutscene lol. Mediocre game

>Yea I’m kind of surprised he did a video game but I guess they convinced him w a lot of money and “hey all you have to do is sit in a booth and record” but still seems unreal that sir Sean Connery would actually lend his voice to the game. I need to try it.

Seems fun so far, plays similarly to Everything or Nothing. I'd like more stealth and gadget stuff, but then again I'm only three missions in.

Okay I see. Well that’s cool. I hope you get a better game on your next roll though!

Nah my computer is old w an i5 from like 2015 and no WiFi adapter. We switched services and the router moved from the living room to the kitchen just need to run the cord along the ceiling to there like I had it in the living room. Yea, hopefully we get a group thing going because I probably won’t play it solo, when Pokemon mmo exists.

Word. It has a unique art style too or is that just the cover. I can’t remember. Glad you’re enjoying it hopefully it’s not the slog rogue agent sounded like.

TMNT 3 nes
fun game, not even big on tmnt but the game rocks
learned my nes doesn't need me to push the cart down cause the pins are tight, so pretty happy with that too.

That’s really cool. I love turtles 3. First video game I ever played. Love everything about that game. The soundtrack is awesome, I love the graphics even w all the slow downs and graphical glitches and still find it hysterical that the orange triceratops on the cover isn’t even in the game. That’s great that the nes’ pins are tight. I need to dig mine out of the closet and clean it up. Couldn’t get it to boot a game last time but I didn’t really try to hard. Glad you’re enjoying it anon!

It's certainly more fun than Rogue Agent so far, yeah.
The art-style doesn't seem any different than Everything or Nothing.

Wait cashing out your physical carts? So you were selling a bunch of stuff? Also I’m sure you know but that yellow comes off w some hydrogen peroxide (I think) and laying it in the sun w some plastic wrap. Definitely double check me on that but pretty sure that’s how I’ve done it w some snes. How far have you gotten into tmnt 3? Personally love the skyscraper setting towards the end. You’ll know it when you see the neon sign.

So it’s 3rd person then? Or is it an fps because I thought everything or nothing was a 3rd person game but now I can’t remember.

It is 3rd person, I think I actually controls better than EoN, though. The lock-on is a little snappier, but we'll see how it holds up in later missions, I always feel like lock-on systems become burdensome if you have more than 4 or 5 enemies on-screen at the same time, and EoN suffered from that.

Yea that makes sense. I wonder what 3rd person shooter did it the best when enemies start coming out in bigger waves, w the lock on system. Has the gadget use and stealth missions gotten better/showing up more in the game? Or is it just a straight shooter this time? Hopefully it has a nice mix of flavor and does stealth right if it’s doing it at all.
