Go through and boost your way through that level killing first all those turrets that have homing missiles (they make a sound when they lock on). After that, knock out all the receptors, or whatever they're called.

IDK about a Wii, but I found the PS3 and 3DS to be of similar skill set to mod. It's honestly just a matter of following directions and dragging folders, etc. The thing with the PS3, however, is that not all of them can run CFW (which is what you want as opposed to HEN). There's a way to check, though. Super easy. Honestly the worst part is having the patience to figure out what apps you wanna use and making them stable. Would definitely recommend modding both.
