im not claiming it to be a simple game, i called it primitive. its execution is primitive in the 3d medium. the one being willfully ignorant is you. "uniquely great" is laughable fellatio. oot isnt really great at much of anything when you can see other games do its things better. better aiming, better first person, better camera, better animations, better sound clarity/design (fuck those horns sounding like a fart in a kazoo), better graphics, more dense/meaningful areas, better enemy ai, better enemy threat/challenge, better combat in general, better MENUS and text boxes, lol. and thats not an exhaustive list either.

because i dont have to. you have to be willfully ignorant or dont play any games to not understand and recognize the truth of that. and again, by all means hold it close to your heart and love it as your favorite game. admitting that other games do things better doesnt undo that. oot isnt going to get mad or sad at you for that. and just because they do things better OBJECTIVELY but dont somehow capture the same "magic" that oot did for you, doesnt mean that they arent better. oot is primitive. its early 3d and it SHOWS. every single mechanic, every single thing, has been improved upon since then. graphics, collisions, projectiles, lock on, melee, ai/behavior, text, interactables, terrain, models, movement, EVERYTHING. it doesnt matter how much you love it. nobody is taking that away.
