worst case scenario, unforeseen CPU fuckery courtesy of their attempts to fix a win11 bug by "shuffling how threads are used", mentioned early in the mandala stream two or so days ago.
I assume the bug in question is the whole-system freeze associated with Win11 24H2. I hope they did fix it but I'm not 100% confident, I've had whole-system freezes from booting ck3 spaced out by months myself before I found out what was even going on, so I'm not sure if them getting it to stop happening on their test machines for a week straight is a surefire confirmation given the possible time scale. Some people have it real bad where they can't play longer than half an hour ever without disabling cores or using vulkan or editing registry if those work at all. So, I wouldn't be surprised if it persists, or even gets shuffled into being significantly worse for people who weren't previously getting assfucked by microsoft.

That aside, all my money would be severe realm-shitting related to Mandala governments. Or those Indonesian fucks that have an offbrand Mandala.

My advice would be to roleplay and act as the character rather than the nation.
Easiest start is the Irish Duke, first get your court set up then pick off your neighbors one by one (you can hoard money and pay mercs if you doubt your military superiority)
Use your chancellor to fabricate claims on a nearby court or just say "YOLO" and do the border dispute CB (I think that was added in DLC so you might not have it. The fabricate claims method is slower but safer and always available)
In the war first defeat their field army, then carpet siege their holdings same as any other game.
Once you have most of Ireland under control you can form the Kingdom of Ireland title which you can use to get free CBs on the rest of the island.
Once you control all of the island (or whatever you can do) you understand the game well enough to play a different start if you want. If you're still having fun go for the Emperor of Britain title next and then try to save Europe from whatever blob monstrosity or crisis of the faith is happening at the time

China is kinda like the Byzantines, but, instead of building up your military strength, you attend activities to build up your Merit, which can give you better ranked provinces. Military and Civillian appointments are seperate tracks and have their own merits and rules
Japan has seperate Military and Civillian governments and, deoending on the start date, start to sway more towards military. You build up your estate and family appointments and can switch between governments, though becoming a military and expanding is technically a crime, you can have enough of a house bloc that it doesn't matter

One thing is that each costume is a fully modeled costume but theres variants in terms of the patterns and colors of the clothing. So for China even if you have only 2 male nobility clothing, it'll still come with a variety of colors and patterns in the fabric that will make it feel more distinct. Same applies for the Byzantine clothing, there's different variants they don't count each separate variant of the outfit.

I spent 4 hours straight just trying to build up a specific type of scenario and relationship dynamic between realms and characters by just swapping between them via console commands and adding certain traits to characters and making them follow a specific path on how they are to interact with some character and do diplomacy with them and whatnot, even forwarded time a bit to get some events going as I was hopping between characters.... then before the year even finished so that the game would auto save, the fucking Hashashins randomly just kill the top tier fucking guy I was supposed to play out the whole scenario against and have my war and rivalry and every fought against.

Just, immediately like that, it fucking nuked everything before it could even auto save and then I realized I forgot to do a manual save as well, aside from the very start of it all when things weren't yet as well defined, and I didn't want to go back, so fuck it, 4 hours wasted, I just dropped it there. Lesson learned either way I guess, remember to save more frequently, or just set to gave to autosave at like 6 months intervals at the very least.

What to spend gold on starting from mid-game when playing as nomads in CK3?

I had a livestream for the China DLC pop up in my feed from that 'Do it for Bruce' guy which I watched some Shorts from before, but I tuned out of it when he said he was basically just going for a Stewardship "pacifist" focus and will just try to basically be a good vassal and not much else for a start. I mean, I would likely try that play style as well at some point, but I've no interest in actually watch someone play it.

Also, for whatever reason, people in his chat kept complaining that he started in the 1066 date instead of the 867 one cause the later on has China be more consolidated and actually allow for that play style he wanted, meanwhile the old one has them on the brink of collapse and it would be more war focused or whatever.

Guess people wanted to just see more war and conquest shit rather than what the Governor and Exam events look like.

IIRC a good chunk of the prominent clans in all the start dates started out as branches from the Imperial family however many centuries ago, so depending on if they're considered as part of the same dynasty inheritance may simply pass things to them

I really don't like the idea with Coronations and the Ching Chong exams basically being a requirement now every single time you end up playing as someone. Might be interesting the first few times you do it, I guess. But I expect it to get old at some point and feel more like an annoyance that you nee to tick off your list and more or less just has you wasting a bunch off time running through the same event loops over and over again.

How do the Chinese pick their dynastic names? I read that Qing comes from Pure and represents the element of water (somehow?) and therefore defeats Ming (element of Light, Fire). I guess it would be looking at characters that have the letters associated with the element, for example Metal 金 is found in Silver (Yin / 银), Prosperity (Xin / 鑫) and Treasure (Bao / 宝) so I guess these are all appropriate names for Dynasties, right? I like to get that LARP and, maybe I have a wrong perspective I don't know, but Metal seems like it mogs Wood which is the Song's Element. Also no idea if Chinese characters show up on 4channel, I have only seen them in the copypasta for Tennaman square and haven't seen that in a good while.

I wonder if the Emperor of Japan gets slapped in Brown Cloth if he's Christian and has to become a Monk Emperor so he can be the regent. I wonder if the Head of Faith title, which usually supersedes all other titles, supersedes the Ten'oh or Hangdi titles.

Even this trans person agrees with the fact that the Crusades in the game are implemented poorly and in CK2 they were implemented better. Just think about it, the game developers spend time and money on China which is ONLY needed by the Chinese and on all sorts of steppes that no one needs, when they have a thing that's IN THE FUCKING NAME not working adequately.

Even on the last part of the movie, when he sieges Jerusalem, he is shown as somehow being honorable at first and showing mercy to those inside as long as they were willing to surrender... but this wasn't the first thing he did IRL. So they never run out of cash or men or have their core power base damaged/threatened.
