they hire so many knowing that many will wash out for one reason or another. nijisanji isn't nearly as concerned with things like overlapping steaming times, overlapping niches for streamers, supporting them financially, etc; the ones who are good will survive, ones who suck will either play supporting cast or drop, and they'll keep sucking up new talent because everyone thinks they'll be popular and successful when they sign up
it's just a very different view from hololive who seem to be more thoughtful about niches and gen dynamics and overall composition, though they still fuck up regularly with retaining EN talent with the idol vs steamer mindset

The truth is that Elira's hires have been generally higher quality.
But that's not because Elira is some magician. It's because she *actually speaks the english language* so she can judge based on quality, rather than PL numbers.
The problem with continuing to choose Elira's friends, is that now the corporation is becoming totally dependent on Elira's crew, who can rugpull them at any time. NijiEN is shockingly bad at talent scouting these past few years for how big a company it is. It's honestly crazy that smaller corpos like phase, idol and other brave group groups even before they got bought out, etc. have consistently managed to make better hires than Niji despite not having as much resources. Hololive having first dibs on the talent pool isn't news, but Niji has failed to find even secondary level talents when smaller corpos have succeeded.

I think that the people in charge of scouting/selection in NijiEN just have zero connection to the EN vtubing sphere. Managers and even talents from other corpos reach out to and connect with indie vtubers all the time for a reason, it's good to keep yourself well connected within what is essentially your pool for potential hires. Meanwhile the people at NijiEN seem to not even be able to speak english properly judging by the godawful english accents of some people they've hired before, like I have nothing against Meloco or anything but who the fuck hears her speak english and thinks "yep, this is exactly who we should hire for our EN branch".

"Hiring" is one thing but they're also extraordinarily bad at actually following through on supporting the talents where it mattered, when it mattered. They are horrid at identifying - identifying who to support, how to support, and when to support people.

It's a fairly commonly accepted stance among any non-sister that Niji EN's stronger talents are the ones that have left the branch. Mysta was right behind Vox and above the others in terms of Luxiem's strength. Nina brought a completely different vibe to the branch. Selen was the branch's resident outlier who didn't appeal to the typical brand of cute-girl-appreciator typical of vtuber fans and also one of the only ones pushing for larger-scale events and collaborations across different waves. Pomu was the traditional CGDCT vtuber with just enough quirky traits to serve as the glue holding it all together. Mika Melatika was the last saving grace of Niji's ex-ID, the only one who managed to break into the West's consciousness via "leeching" off Luxiem (something she admits to).

It is abundantly clear that none of these people received the support necessary to flourish. They instead felt stymied and suffocated where they were. Outside of Selen, many of the aforementioned chuubas showed signs they believed staying within Nijisanji EN would have led to creative stagnation. They never would have come to entertain this belief if there weren't circumstances that had led to thinking such things. Mysta was top 2nd in the most lucrative wave of Niji EN's history, a position that isn't easy to give up without ample reason. All Mysta needed was a way to feel supported in controlling the sisters more effectively because they were the reason he left. But his own corpo couldn't even do that.

They're not THAT bad at hiring. But if there's anything anyone's learned from Salome, it's that Nijisanji is absolutely dogshit at taking initiative to support their own talents effectively when it comes to achieving real goals.

All of those names you've listed there are from the early days of the branch. Nobody even knows who all the countless nameless new livers are from the post-2022 eras.
There's no more buff for it now, or at least it's greatly diminished. If you want to get a boost from nijisanji for your indie career, you're gonna have to go out extremely dramatically (and be in the right, or at least twist it to seem you're in the right) to make it work. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it has got to be juicy and interesting or nobody's gonna care.

The Nijisanji EN talents in the branch right now are an indicator of the kind of chuubas Anycolor actually wants. Elira, Rosemi, Finana, Millie, Enna, Wilson - people who are content to do whatever they want and serve as piggy banks for the corpo as long as they earn enough to be content. They do not see any path upwards. They do not act on ambition or aspirations. They don't want to achieve anything. They just want to "be" as they are, playing games and hanging out with their circle while making money out of it. And there's actually nothing wrong with that, but that's no reason to allow them to control the atmosphere of the branch and step on those that actually want to do something with the chance they were given.

When you have people like Selen who have repeatedly stated they wanted to make the most of the position she was in as a corpotuber in a big company,
