Rina can for 1 to 2 hours a stream now at the advisement of her speech therapist. It's a slow process and she doesn't want to damage her voice again like what happened after her surgery when she got the go ahead to talk and they didn't realize how much talking would be involved in streaming, leading to more surgery required. Hello! Can you explain the appeal of watching retro games? Is it the nostalgia? Do you find it fun to watch them struggle? The answer to all of those is "sometimes it's that". Sometimes it's fun to see someone play a game you love for the first time. And sometimes it's interesting to see a game I myself missed out on as a kid, and maybe even try it out after watching a stream.
But generally speaking I just think old games make for better content, maybe it's the challenge and occasional frustration but it feels more like the gameplay is the main focus of the stream with some yapping on the side while modern games, especially those flavor of the month multiplayer ones you see all too often, feel more like background noise for a just chatting stream if that makes sense.
Also, I think the reason retro is more niche is because you have to be into both vtubers and gaming to enjoy it.

There are many tried and true good and bad retro games to play, there are ones that are well known and others that are obscure, some that are impressively hard and some that are very chill. The well to draw from is wide and deep with retro gaming whether exploring that depth or skimming the surface level.
