She probably on some level feels like its like, bad to effectively deny the existence of your child in order to better emotionally manipulate autists on the internet. Like its in principle wrong to act like your child is almost something to be ashamed of. Streaming schedule will inevitably be impacted by the baby, and that will put her in a situation where she has to decide to cite the actual reason, or effectively deny its existence by making up a different excuse.
There's an element with some of this stuff where vtubers are pretty intellectually dishonest and entitled. Like they think they're rightfully entitled to be just as successful and supported regardless of these kinds of things, moralistically feeling that it shouldn't matter, despite the fact that on some level they have to know that romantically appealing to men is core to the whole vtuber phenomenon and an inseperable part of what they do and the success they experience. They want all the benefits of this extremely enviable job, but also want to inhabit a fiction where its less emotionally questionable and ugly than it actually is. So once they've established a sufficiently emotionally invested audience who won't easily abandon them, they shift gears like this and try and make people accept it, thus helping substantiate their make believe world where these elements of what they do and the appeal of it they don't like to think about aren't so important. They drag people over the line kicking and screaming, and feel morally righteous in doing so, because "it shouldn't be an issue". But if they had treated it like it shouldn't have been an issue from day one, would they be where they are now?
In other words, their ideal fan is a straight women or gay man, who just finds them funny and likeable and finds the avatar cute. Many of them are fans of other vtubers in this way. The ideal straight male fan is basically the same, or as close to that as possible. This is what they want to feel is going on as much as possible. But the reality is that while these fans to exist, they are a limited minority. Once you reach a certain very high level of success, you won't always just be fully content, its very common to get used to that normal and eventually want more. Sometimes that's trying to become more sueccesful. Sometimes what's up next is trying to have that level of success entirely on your terms, or in such a manner that it makes you feel the best, and triggers cognitive dissonance and demands that you have thoughts you're not thrilled about as infrequently as possible. Such as when you have to self censor and are made to feel like you're doing something wrong or like you're some kind of slut just for being in a relationship, the most normal thing in the world But as I said the considerations in the first paragraph alone are enough to explain this decision.
