A bunch of our customers are seeing sales stagnate, are pausing expansions, are pausing hiring, or are going out of business entirely. I almost can't believe it isn't front-page news every day.
My guess is that there are three factors keeping this from feeling like a panic: (1) the stock market looks fine even though "stock market is not the economy" and (2) both companies and consumers are burning through existing stocks of goods and/or existing savings, (3) the business that are closing first are smaller mom-and-pop companies, and so people don't perceive it as systemic.
