It's a weird thing were people want to treat it as they would any other fandom, some of which are very receptive to men, some of which are not - and you see this stuff in fandoms that aren't receptive to men, quite a bit honestly, just girls fighting each other because the majority doesn't want men in their space, but this goes far beyond that because normally spaces in fandom are not dependent on popularity, they just exist as spaces for people to interact withing where everyone has a relatively even footing on how much their contributions matter, there will be more popular members, but popularity is not directly a factor on who participates and who doesn't, so they want to treat vtubing in the same way. but vtubing inherently reliant on popularity, your space in the "community" is dictated by how popular you're and involvement as a vtuber and not a fan requires you to be popular as such, so they get in and try to influence things like they do in other space but can't deal with the fact that there's no even footing there, the people who are the most popular make the rules, because everything in vtubing is popularity based
They keep operating under the erroneous idea that male vtubers not being liked is something akin to people not liking men being into proseka or other gachas that are mostly played by girls, when in reality in those spaces being receptive to men comes from simply not driving them away, while for male vtubers to be acepted they need to be popular, because that's how you become part of the vtuber "community" and for them to be popular they need people to be financially and emotionally invested in them, and no one wants to do that. The former is feasible, because it simply requires people to ignore a certain group of people they don't like, the latter is imposible because it requires people to actively engage with content they dislike for the sake of inclusion
Also, most boy Nijis in NijiEN can't even crak 1k viewers most of the time, so beyond me what argument is she making for them being trendsetters
