Do you know why people like rocky? They quote the dialouge, they listen to the music, they follow the story and are inspired by the characters.
How much of that applies to vtubers? It's stream of conscious, so how many vtubers are great orators? How many are quoteworthy? Whats inspirational? What cool special effects were there? What's the story? See Suisei has an actual character arc, thats part of her appeal. Indie to corpo to idol. What was Fauna? ASMR streamer, to ASMR corpo streamer, to ASMR indie streamer with a husband?
Most vtubers aren't entertaining enough to survive without the social element, you can't compare them to creative things like actors making movies. Suisei stands out as a musician, but even looking at indies a lot of them will act like whores, then act shockd that their viewers only watch them for that and don't care about their music or passion projects. Unless you have a story to support or an entertaining skill to display you really don't have much that stands out.

People find those streamers to be witty and funny, or they make varied content. Vtubers due to the medium, are limited to being behind a png. Content creation is more limited.
