I spent 2 years in Japan with a host family, riding down from the hills, across rice fields and to the school every week day. There, I was part of the kendo and archery clubs, but also did swimming as I was part of a state team back home. After school, we'd ride over to the convenience store and hang out with friends, before returning home where I'd chill with my host bro and we'd play gamecube, shoot BB guns, read manga, and watch anime, where my tastes were informed. On the solid oak bookshelf behind me in my multimillion dollar house, beside the sliding door to my home gym where I squat 5 plate, sits some of the manga he gifted me, along with photo albums, and in a cabinet nearby some other souvenirs of that and other adventures.
