But if the Nerevarine were to walk Tamriel for real, this is exactly what it would look like, juiced on pure CHIM.

There is often more than one way to enjoy a game (granted, sometimes none) and you clearly don't have to enjoy all of them.

no, I understand the argument, I'm just arguing that it's not actually an argument, it'd like calling people crazy for skipping filler in something like naruto on a rewatch.

if you've experienced the game as intended already, it doesn't matter how you want to play after that and it doesn't make you a freak.

a lot of speedrunners are freaks, but she's plain wrong.
Anonymous No.5947097 >>5947132 >>5947152 >>5947194

But even on repeat playthroughs speedrunners still manage to skip a lot of truly intended parts of a game, such as mechanics and level/encounter design.

Ignoring all enemies to reach a boss where you "trick" its AI to be powerless while you apply a cheese to reduce HP is in no way playing a game.

Then theres speedrunning narrative games, where they move from cutscene to cutscene mashing through dialogue and "solving" puzzles they already know. What are they even doing at that point?

Btw I don't see a problem with speedrunning something like a platformer where the sole goal is getting from point A to B, it's a good fit for the genre

Just so you know you can fill the music folder in the game install directory with your own songs, and they will load in your game. Only you will hear them unless you are hosting the server then everyone else will download them and hear them too. Just like the Half-Life days/original Counter-Strike days.

Me and my cousin would always fuck with LAN centers and replaced Battlefield music with random bullshit music to piss off the owners, like Backstreet Boys or Britney Spears. Stupid shit. But it was still funny when you host the local 60 player LAN game and every downloads some gay songs and they hear that shit in the air.

They are not casually playing the game, they are competitively playing the game. It's like saying that a F1 race is not the real way to visit a city. That's not the point. Even the 100% speedruns do not do the stuff in the correct order.

yep same. i've never watched streamers but maybe the appeal is something to do with people not socialising much anymore so it gives the youngers and wierdos a way to feel connected to someone or something?
they should just go down the pub instead and spend money there, much more fun.

i'll make an exception for avgn's old stuff because i didn't have a snes when i was a kid in the 80's/90's so a lot of that stuff is pretty interesting except for his lame poop jokes and retarded skits (and that fuckin intro music with the annoying looking guitar guy, always skipped that).

Meek boys who are the ones who shun away or are shunned away from normal activities, or boys that are fascinated by computer games might be "antisocial" compared to their peers, become good at video games because they happen to play them a lot. But being men, they have the natural instinct to compete and what better way to try to boast about your abilities than to hone something you have already grown used to, playing. Also, you can try to bring in autism of some kind to this as speedrunning involves repetition of something to the extreme. So you are doing something repetitive, without getting bored, alone and/or with a select audience. These kind of people with their mentality and personality might be a group that has a higher chance of autism, trannies and overall mental illnesses compared to the basic population. Now, as they aren't quite aggressive, the speedrunning community can become quite tolerant of people since only your results matter. But as soon as some people in this group start behaving radically due to their own fantasies, political opinions and such, I would assume that it's quite easy for them to get authority since all of the others are speedrunners, wusses, or they might not just care. Give this phenomenon a few years, and you have AGDQ go from Caleb and Trihex arm wrestling in a basement, to Bonesaw getting booted out despite being an audience favorite and a laugh riot, to AGDQ being a tranny haven with almost a political bias and opinions.

And you're a manchild.

One thing I really liked about The Empire Strikes Back is how calm and menacing Vader is when he fights Luke. Instead of charging in and overwhelming him, he purposefully goads Luke into attacking. It shows how much Vader has matured over the two decades, becoming more calculating and controlled. That’s why I’m not a fan of how Vader is portrayed at the end of Rogue One; the way he slaughters those Rebels just feels unnecessary. It doesn’t fit with the more strategic and reserved version of Vader we see in A New Hope, where the stormtroopers do the busywork of killing the rebels.

NTA but in Getting Over It, Foddy shuts the fuck up the entire duration of the game if it detects you are going way too fast for someone 'normally' playing it.

NTA, Ultrakill's creator Hakita acknowledges speedrunning and does changes with them in mind. When fixing out of bounds clips, he preserved the ones speedrunners use and left messages for some. In the dev streams, he also showed some parts of level geometry designed with speedrunning in mind(but they turned out obsolete with better strategies anyway).
But this shouldn't be that surprising considering that this game basically requires you to 100% speedrun/perfect each level to unlock secret bosses.
