Apu... These all SOUND great. Some of them are raw musical kino. But your lyrics... Bro there's no getting around it. Every single one of these fails because your lyrics are bad. They either make no sense or your diction is too obtuse. Words have to sound good together for music to frame them. I get that this series seems to be about Halo, that's fine, but forcing name drops like Keyes or making sure that the word covenant is used needs way more care than you've shown.

Whatever prompting structure you use for the music itself is phenomenal. Work on making lyrics that deserve it.

It's a concept album and it is literally based on the missions for Halo CE - each one is a mission. The only thing I will say is that it is repeating certain things due to the memory in ChatGPT - yes I have not written these lyrics because not only does it take too long the LLM can do a better job than I could ever do. Sure, I could alter them in particular in things where every "mission" it is mentioning that the ring is not a world it is a weapon. Another thing tho, I do make sure the lyric sentences don't rhyme because that sounds derivative just as per your enclosed genned example. But for the next set I will reset the chatgpt and see if I can get some different lyrics because it does seem to follow the same structure if you let it gen after the last one - it does have a memory on purpose for tasks that need a memory.

That said, music is built upon other music inherently. Syntactical structure has been basically the same for the last 500 years, for instance. If there's a story you want told then you can experiment in different ways. Throw out the chorus and make instrumental bridges between motions, or change the chorus to follow the story.

Your gens are good, but they're not something someone could just pick up and listen to because of these lyrical hiccups. I used that example up there specifically because of word truncation, rhythm, and the chorus shift at the end. In terms of production your creations are far better, but Time's Up is easier to listen to.

now, you may have a good point there. The choros does always seem to be the most derivative of things and even the bridge can - but i do think it depends on what the song is based on as some do actually need a catchy chorus, some a bridge. But using the same structure for every song certainly does make it pan out the same. there is no doubt about it, chatgpt without programming it and/or using a better version of it isn;t the best for writing lyrics, it isn't a lyric writer because it will always be based on a broad interpretation of song writing and you probably have to give it far more instruction anyway to get better results for the base model one. The last time I used the writer in Suno it wasn't too good and was a bit of a mumble jumble of words, I think they have improved it but I tend to stick with chatgpt, but certainly the structure could be instructed better and i am sure it would follow it for a given song wanted. I also do maybe have too many lyrics in the song - especially these as I repeated the pre-chorus and chorus after each verse (3 verses). Interesting that chatgpt did at the end of doing some lyrics for another song i did suggest doing some more lyrics for a dance track in a certain way and the structure was very different. But it doing a song say on Lords of the Rings (10 Episodes to cover the 3 films) it is going to name drop characters unless you instruct it not to and substitute with another description

never used the pay features. only using the free features. only playing around to see how the algorithms interpret the text that is entered. was mostly interested in how it handles languages. for insance i noticed a some with english descriptive text seems to produce a better song and to make it into another language i put "japanese only lyrics" or "korean only lyrics" and it seems to trasnlate the english text to the specified language. also noticed it creates a better melody line if i specify a vocal track but tell it to create a instrumental.

That is pretty good, I have a few of my guitar playing on audio and of course i never thought they would be of any use although I did try in one of the early models to use one and it wasn't very good. Will give it a try and pair with some trusty chatgpt lyrics on whatever I can think of. I think the earlier model simply used the original audio and it started off wit hit and then carried on, you could imagine how bad it would be with some non professional recording of amateur sounding guitar playing.

Since model 4 they added the ability to tweak the strenght of both the audioclip and the prompts giving a ton of flexibility. Also the tagger they use for uploads now recognizes chord progression and will give a detailed description of the audio, down to minute things like "The melody is played on the higher strings, often incorporating arpeggiated chords and hammer-ons/pull-offs for ornamentation.". It's insane.

As the sub plan is now only $6 a month and the premium plan is $18 a month with the only features are the Studio editing package at an additional 7.5k songs I wonder what else they may withhold from the base plan. The free one will continue to be left behind but they might allow v4 model eventually. To be honest some of the v3.5 songs i did wer every good, I found itf you stuck to 80's synth pop or EDM etc the quality was not too bad, rock was pretty poor especially heavy metal at least with how I did things then, the audio was terrible.

Just overflow the lyrics at the end of the prompts. If you input several paragraphs of gibberish like "jfrihtuhfkiu yfhihrrtiyfiufh bfgicfigtifiy grojcihy" the filter can be bypassed. Then when you have the first song created, just split it at the point just before the gibberish.

The lyrics are from Family by Noah Gunderson. The overflowed gibberish at the end is what got the gen through the filter. If you have Suno pro you can go into the editor and re-gen the specific section, or you can use something like Audacity to do a fade out before the overflowed lyrics start.

Is anyone else having trouble getting Suno to do anything at all today? I try creating and the button does nothing, no error messages or credits used up, just pulses and no music made.

No, I genned some songs 2 hours ago on the desktop version (never used the mobile one). Maybe sign out to see if it resolves it if not then you could try clearing your cache - I assume you are using the desktop version and not the mobile one. I did check Discord on their tech help section and it does seem some others are having issues of it not generating, a reply says "not the first today, maybe country specific". So maybe wait until it resolves.

I'm using the web version - I've tried both on my phone and on my laptop, and both have the same issues. On my phone, there's a perpetually spinning dial next to the "create" button even before I've done anything.

I'd like to wait, but it's half 9 at night where I am, Credits don't reset until about 1 am, but I have an early start tomorrow and I don't want to be up several hours past bedtime waiting for AI gens, and I don't want to waste my credits either.

Logging out is an idea though, I'll give that a try and see if it does anything. Thanks mate.

well suno finally put a limit on number of downloads per month for free accounts. guess they don't like people that aren't serious about using their services.

How do I get into sound genning? My dad asked me about it the other day, he wanted to polish his old songs or play with them a bit. I know something about image generation but nothing about audio. Is it demanding compared to images and video? Is there a general somewhere?

Sooooo it's been a couple weeks now. Suno v5 is ass right? I can't decide. Some of my v5 gens are my favorite so far, but 90% of them are absolute slop. It's impossible to escape this "badass Ford commercial" theme/styling. Small prompts have it, massive prompts have it. Ironically setting style to 100 and weirdness to 0 is the only way I've been able to get somewhat unique results consistently.

I have the complete opposite opinion. There hasn't been a single gen that I haven't liked, and even it a gen turns out a bit rough it can always be corrected with the cover function.

Been going back and regenning some of my older v3 and 4 gens and am getting consistently groovy results.

only for the testing period and to try to grow a platform are they going to give anything away for free. Suno is only $6 a month, whilst it is yet another subscription on top of whatever other services are there if you have more than a casual interest in it then it is pretty inexpensive for what it offers. No doubt one day local genning will be possible at that level just like it has from images and video and voice cloning and other "AI". But sure if you only want to make a few songs then the commitment to use of 2500 credits (so max of 250 songs) a month is not going to happen unless you don't care about the $6.

of course hence why I said it isn't wort it just to make a few songs once in a while and that is the main problem wit subscription services, you are almost forced to use them or you have to think they are just there to use and you have to realise you will be paying for something you may not use to it's potential. IT is $6 US a months so that will be converted to local currency - it is still $6 tho. V5 is still in Beta so 4+ is still a valid subscription only model along with 4. Maybe they ought to let people buy credits without subbing for a whole year as you can only buy credits with a subscription, I guess they want people to commit to at least a year whether they use the credits per month or not.

Suno doesm't allow buying credits without subbing for a month. Probably the best way would be to just sub for a month and get as much stuff done in that month and you could even buy extra credits if needed. As the credits bought need an active subscription I don't know if cancelling a subscription and say resubbing in 6 months would mean those credits are still there - if they were then it could be a way round having to keep subbing every few months as you could sub for a month and know credits are available beyond the 2500 (500 songs - although that includes 2 that are genned from a prompt at a time). The pricing for subbing seem to fluctuate, I have seen it $6 a month (to sub for a year) and yet the plan I am on is $8 a month. To sub monthly is $10.

v5 is decent, better than 4 was because it actually noodles and does small inconsistencies with singing. I think the only thing I will say I don't like with 5 is it really really likes to put *huff* put *huff* that *huff* taking a breath *huff* after every verse to give it a live voice.
