Anyways, now that the thread is made, does anyone know what the best translation of the Tetrabiblos is? I've heard some funny things about the older translations. I've found some free versions online, but I'm wondering if there's anything better before I start investing time and energy into it.

Even if it's a bad translation, it shouldn't be a problem if you have done your homework. You can read it and use your background knowledge to make sense of it.
Sorry I am not qualified to comment on what the best translation is.
I do recommend reading Porphyry's introduction to the Tetrabiblos if you can, though. Pretty cool.

How do i make sense of squares and trines
Anonymous No.40578216 [Report] >>40578222 >>40579969
>>40577986
It's all contextual. Neither squares or trines are ever wholly good. The planets involved, the signs involved, the houses involved, as well as every other factor affecting the qualities of the configuration is important. Trines are generally seen as "pleasant" or "easy" aspects, but I'd like to remind people that a trine between Mars and Venus can signify a lot of terrible things if they are "in harmony", as Valens says, such as cheating. Not necessarily by the native.

Squares are really interesting because they were considered the most powerful aspects in astrology, and they certainly cause shit to happen. Look to see what planet is forming the superior part of the square (the planet that is earlier in zodiacal order, i.e. pisces to gemini) and whichever planet is in the superior position has an increased say in the relationship between the two.
Anonymous No.40578222 [Report]
>>40578216
*Are wholly good

Adding "ever" there implies trines always have negatives to them. That was a mistake on my part.
Anonymous No.40578226 [Report]
>>40577986
wdym. Squares are overapplications of one energy to the other to a negative effect. Trines are positive interactions of the energies.
There's still caveats to this like Saturn aspects to anything will at least cause delays
Regulus No.40578276 [Report] >>40579176 >>40579969

Aspects are the shapes formed from the position of the signs on the Zodiac Wheel. There's four Triplicities (elements) that are grouped as Fire, Air, Water and Earth.

Each of those signs has a Nature and Quality, along with a Gender. These reflect the nature of the planets that rule them, and tell you about what that sign represents.

Fire = Hot and Dry
Air = Hot and Wet
Water = Cold and Wet
Earth = Cold and Dry

Masculine = active and likes day time
Feminine = passive and likes night time

Picrel shows the triangle each of these element clusters (Triplicities) form. Because each of the elements share the same Nature and Quality, in addition to a Gender, they get along very well. Imagine having a friend that matches your interests, energy level, hobbies and views closely, that's similar to a Trine because so much is shared in common.

Now take a Square. A Square aspect is like a member of your friend group who you don't get along with but don't hate, because you both have little in common.

In picrel, if you make a triangle from Aries to Leo, it makes a trine. If you go back one sign to Cancer, it forms a square shape. Cancer is a feminine sign that's cold and wet. Aries is a masculine fire sign that's hot and dry. They don't share anything in common except modality (they're both cardinal signs) so they don't get along.
Anonymous No.40579176 [Report]
>>40578276
I don't fully agree with this. You will find that similar modalities will have quite a bit in common. No signs show this more than mercury and Jupiter's signs, which are all mutable. These signs have a lot in common. Gemini and Virgo are both Mercury ruled signs. They have a lot in common. Gemini and Sagittarius are on the same axis. They have a lot in common. Gemini and Pisces is where you'll find these two butting heads however because they both have similar energy and will step on each other's shoes. I'm sure similar things can be found in other parts of the zodiac, this one is just the most obvious to me since problems arise in similar manners in these signs.

Astro bros.. Charts aside, what do we think of the current Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries and the current world shenanigans?
Any thoughts?
We have Saturn retrograding on July 13 until November until it meets again in February next year.
Are we expecting a cool down with political fuckery and deceit through the rest of summer until fall?
Is shit gonna get super real next year leading up to 2030?

That's kind of a tall order. There are some older techniques, but I don't know them. What I can tell you is that your death should be peaceful. You'll likely die in your sleep or something along those lines, as your in sect benefic (positive planet) is in the 8th house and has mutual reception with the sun. Essentially it is doing really well for where it is, which at face value means you'll either benefit from death or you'll have an easy death.

I can't be fucked to check your chart for fixed stars, which would give us more insight into your death if it was of note, and I could predict how you might die that way.

What I can tell you is that the middle third of your life will be better than the first or third third by a mile. Your triplicity rulers of the sect light are all in poor locations, but the 2nd ruler is Jupiter, which is in a succedent house at the very least. I could garner more if I had your lots, but I can't be fucked to calculate that atm and my brain was struggling to remember the word "triplicity" a second ago.

Either way, unless the lots say otherwise your life will improve around 25-30 or so (about a third of your life)

You're also more likely to marry someone who's either spiritual or abroad. I'd bet you meet your husband/wife through the internet desu.

Can someone help me with a reading anons? What caught your eye on my chart? Will I ever become rich or a good at martial arts? Will I ever become happy?
Anonymous No.40586189 [Report] >>40586501

>Rich
Leos certainly have the ego for this potential. Jupiter in Cancer, in the 11th house is a big "win". Jupiter is exalted, but it points to your "network". Family, friends, etc. Work on connections.

>Martial arts
Ascendant Virgo, you're analytical which bodes well. Mars in Sag gives you a drive to explore in "fighting", Mars is the god of war as you probably know. Bodes well.

>Happiness
This is a bit of a silly question, but you have a Mercury in Cancer so I assume you're prone to emotional communication. I'm sure you know what your own weaknesses are, maybe a bit of hesitancy to act, but things work out for you when you put in the effort.

>Scorpio ASC chart
Your chart ruler is mars, meaning that for yourself, you should look to that particular planet as having the biggest sway over you. Both Jupiter and Venus are in the signs that they rule, meaning that your blessed with pretty good luck. Retrograde Jupiter may be a little difficult, but that's alright. Don't worry about being a nobody, you'll certainly be someone someday.

>Antiscia & Trine between Chart Ruler Mars and Saturn
That kind of sucks. The chart ruler (meaning your essence) is in aspect to saturn, meaning that your sense of self or vital energy was restricted in some way, probably by authority in some way. Saturn in the seventh could indicate delayed marriage, or marriage to an older woman. Your moon is in taurus as well, conjunct the DSC. Your emotions probably have an outstretched influence on you internally. You probably had an alright mom, who had a big part in your life.

>Sun Venus Mercury in the twelfth
The twelfth is called the house of bad spirit, it rules over one's enemies and hidden things. Your Sun, Mercury and Venus is here; your selfhood is oriented towards that which is hidden or troubled. Your Venus is also here. I'd be inclined to say that this would be a bad thing; however Venus rules over Libra, and is exalted in this sign. Your spouse may be mentally ill in some way, but in the end it'd turn out alright. There may be some undercurrent of manipulation, so watch out for that.

Your fifth house is in pisces, and has Jupiter in it's own sign. Once you get married (eventually), you'd probably be the kind to have a shitload of children, and you'd get quite a bit of happiness out of them; given that Jupiter is really comfortable in pisces. Unless your spouse's chart says otherwise, you'll probably have quite a few more daughters rather than sons.

Your chart ruler is saturn, so that particular planet is your 'Giver of Life'. Saturn is in Gemini, and is in the sixth house, the house of health. Normally, this would indicate a life plagued by health issues, however saturn is in aspect to mars in the 10th house, which is conjunct the MC. This is a pretty favourable aspect; a planet in the sixth forming favorable aspect to a planet in the 10th has the ability to 'remove' the illness indicated by the planet in the sixth. Not only that, but Saturn is dignified in a term which it rules (Term V of Gemini). If your a third worlder, a healthy estimate would be that you'd live to at least your mid 60's. If a first worlder, to 70 at least.

>Jupiter ruled 7th
>Jupiter is in it's sign of fall (Saturn-ruled Capricorn)
>Saturn in the seventh.
>Saturn making an Antiscia aspect to the Moon.
This person has marital troubles. They may have an older spouse, and their marriage is subject to constant catastrophe. Their saturn in the seventh is in aspect to the moon in the second, so balancing their marital needs with their material / financial situation is a challenge. They also encounter troubles with money (Chiron in the second, with Libra ruler Venus in hard aspect to second house moon.)
