The gif depicts a gas heavier than air. With air being so light, how does it "stick" to a celestial body moving so fast through a vacuum with nothing holding it in? Even with the jar idea, the gas is at least kept together by 5 walls, with our atmosphere however, NASA claims it's just open to the border of space and gravity is somehow holding all that wild has in place. You can literally recreate Galileo's telescope using cardboard, duct tape, and regular magnifying glasses, though. Hell, if you don't trust the glass in those for some reason, you can grind the glass down into the proper shape yourself. You just need sand, water, a blow torch, and sandpaper.
