The original series generally convey insights into the planets and the types of people who work with them. Sailor Moon is rebellious, petty and childish, but also sticks up for love and binds everyone together (Eros.) Sailor Mercury is booksmart and prone to technology, but tends to be shy and a 'know-it-all.' Sailor Venus advocates full potential and being the best (Netzach), but has an ego prone to fantasizing about her celebrity or loves, rose colored glasses. Sailor Mars is all about hard work and dedication to her temple, and is first to fight the more demonic monsters, but has a temper that steamrolls others. Sailor Jupiter is the heroic caretaker of the group and always sticks up for the weak, but she's materialistic and distracted by food and boys (wears her hair in a ponytail which was considered 'slutty' for students.) There's a lot of little stuff like that which aligns them with the archetypes we play out in our own lives.
