Srsly anon it is not actually complicated in concept despite how complicated it may seem to be in practice (which like 99% is actually just safety mechanisms, if all you were concerned with was power generation without care for being able to throttle or shut it down you could build a small fission reactor in your garage without a single controlled material)

In defense of Wind and Solar, we've proven to ourselves that we're not smart enough to harness fission without permanently fucking ourselves with it. Solar and Wind are actually the cheapest sources of energy while Nuclear is mostly useful for cheap and reliable baseline but is full of regulatory hurdles and costs significantly more.
