All the movies listed in this thread so far are mostly art projects - the kind where the writer or director is basically savoring their own farts from a wine glass. The only possible exceptions might be The Matrix and Dark City, which actually touch on what is and how is.

The ZERO theorem isn't that. It's one of the very best movies every produced in terms of "the one" archetype. And the main protagonist, is an ACTUAL master, and tells the femme fatale to beat it, even though he knows that he will likely never find someone else that would be with him. any way, Naked 1994. Very dark and black pilled, but it has theological discussions. I liked it enough to buy a copy on DVD. Not sure if I would consider it spiritual, but at least it's a unique movie worth seeing especially if you like the doomer vibe.
