SIRIUS, KARMA, AND THE LAW OF PERIODICITY

Karma, a word from the Sanskrit language, has numerous subtleties and shadings of denotation as well as of connotation. It is derived from the Sanskrit root KR, meaning to do, to act. One of the most fundamental meanings of the word is, therefore, simply action and its results.

The Tibetan tells us that the principle of consequences from prior action pertains to all that there is. He says,

For through this service it is possible not only to set aside one’s karmic burden, but to lift the load from the shoulders of another.
