Hakuoho has competed with Isegahama longer than he's been with Miyagino. Pretty much all of Kusano's basho were under Isegahama as well. One could make the argument that they're more of an Isegahama product at this point.

Being a top tier oyakata isn't about training your dudes, it's about recruiting the best dudes. You can't train someone to have physique like Onosato, or a fighting IQ and drive like Hoshoryu. Hakuho first met Ochiai when he was 11.

Ajigawa has only been open for 3 years. It took Hakuho 3 years to go from maezumo to sekitori. Just because megastars aren't produced every other basho doesn't mean they're not good coaches. If you listen to Aonishiki interviews, you see Ajigawa giving good technical advice, instead of the typical "use more fighting spirit" and "work on doing his brand of sumo," so I'm inclined to believe he's a good coach.

In general the hair cutting ceremonies are attended by those who are directly invited, and then limited number of tickets are sold. It is up to the retiring wrestler to set the number of available tickets and price.
There are a number of factors that go into how many attendies htere are.

I'm fine with basho in late 2022 and even early 2024 being won by Maegashira because our only truly dominant rikishi was Terunofuji who sometimes couldn't fight. But I am simply not okay with Kotoshoho taking home a cup. What a clown show.
