While I defend it for not being misery porn, it's an icky theme because I don't think that centrism is a good thing. When you grow older, you realize that a lot of these situations are blatantly black-and-white in real life. No one is treating others like garbage because you hurt their family, they're doing it because they think you're below the hierarchy. It's all power dynamics.
A lot of people are overjoyed at the prospect of treating non-privileged people badly for no reason because they're less likely to retaliate against them. They would not treat their neighbors the same way they do with strangers because there's a direct reprecussion for it. With strangers, you can get others to believe that they are freaks/outcasts that deserve to be treated badly. It's the mindset of all of them, including this anon

In my experience, you can end bullying by fighting back or simplying beating them up. I got permanently banned from recess in the short term, but in the long term they stopped fucking with me. People won't realize how bad it is to treat others like garbage unless if you treat them like garbage
