We know how Marina feels about Shizuka, but the constant preying on her to the point of suicide is obsessive. So obsessive it makes you wonder why she continues to stalk Shuzuka instead of ignore her existence. Well, given their parental troubles, we know Marina has a pathetic picture of Shizuka and her situation. What we saw during both flashbacks is that both girls' problems stemmed from missing a father figure.
This is their common link, one which they kept to themselves as they tormented each other in their respective timelines.

Takopi's innocence wasn't really well received by any of the kids (in fact it kept getting worse), but he always tried his best to put a smile on their faces. Considering how futile it was, the last thing he could do was fulfill his mission and bring the kids together with their common link. At the end of each timeline, Takopi left them at their lowest point (Marina after killing her dad and Shizuka after no Chappy), yet they were both emotional about his farewell. All those pent-up emotions from the different timelines weren't forgotten though, and remained as dreams/very faint deja vu.
This was Takopi's final sacrifice and the only thing he could do after admitting he really didn't know how to resolve the kids' complexities with magic.

At the end of the day, Takopi caused all the stuff-ups but really showed his maturity by becoming a beacon of hope. Shizuka drew him in her subconscious of things that make her happy, and Marina's last bullying sesh (her desire to rant about parental issues with a like-minded sufferer, as much as she doesn't want to admit it to Shizuka), FINALLY gave a reason for them both to open up.
People are like this irl. If you've ever had bad relations with anyone, sometimes all you need is one simple reason to open up and talk. Without that, you won't accept peace and feign negativity forever without resolution.
