The first 2 arcs were pure aura farming MC vs everybody so people thought it was funny. Now it's trying to have a slower and more serious arc focusing on more characters, although this series has that thing where practically all the characters except the MC and his boyfriend become irrelevant or forgotten as the story goes on.
