The recipes are secret and the ingredients are extremely rare, so both are expensive, if you can even find someone willing to sell it.

Just for reference, Klein has a monthly salary of 12 pounds, which makes him middle-class. The combined price of the recipe and ingredients of the Seer potion on the black market would cost like 500 pounds. Clown potion would be twice as much, and he basically got both for free from his employer.

When you think about it, a Sequence 6 Artisan is basically a better version of a Sequence 5 Shepherd.

For low-mid sequence, Assassin is ridiculous. For high sequence, it's tough and the late-game mechanics kind of forcefully even out the playing field.
There's a handful of pathways that let you cheat abilities from other pathways as well, which can make for ridiculous combos.

But really, rather than a "best" pathway, you want to think about the pathways you don't want to take. There may not be any right answers, but there sure as hell are wrong answers.
Any pathway with a God or Great Old One is pretty much off-limits since it hard-caps you on how high you can get.

Yeah the main issue there is some Beyonders will try and advanced before they completely digest the potion. That can make you lose control. And when you've been the same sequence for years? Well, you can see the issue.
Overall, the earlier you digest a potion the better. Or at least feel you're making progress. Once digested, I THINK you can just sit at that sequence with no issues? You'll still have to maintain control, but you wont have the potion fighting you anymore.

No. Any sources of corruption can cause someone to lose control. Potions are a major source of corruption but this also includes going places you shouldn't, learning things you shouldn't, etc.
Digesting potions reduces the corruption they cause and at lower sequences this is enough to fully mitigate the risks of getting corrupted by the potion. At higher sequences, beyonders can't fully mitigate corruption from their potions and need to balance it with other forms of corruption, like worship.

Neil was the "occult shit specialist" of the Nighthawks, but Mystery Pryers occasionally hear the Hidden Sage whispering occult secrets into their ear, but they can usually more or less try to block it out. One of those whispers probably included a method of resurrection, so he was tempted to listen more, and then after his last old friend died he just went over the edge and lost control.


Remember the two eyes that showed up behind him in episode 2? That was the Hidden Sage. There was also an episode where he went shopping for occult shit with Klein and the ingredient he wanted to buy was later on the resurrection recipe.

That aside, episode 8 raised more deathflags for him than a hot blonde walking down a dark alley in a horror movie.

Like what? Not saying it didn't, but most of the complaints I saw about it was people not liking Lumian, which is fair, but I personally enjoyed that he was his own character from the start (even if not the best written) instead of making him some kind of Klein knock-off.

To be honest, Circle of Inevitability reads a lot more like Embers Ad Infinitum, the novel the author wrote after Lord of the Mysteries, rather than resembling its own prequel. Now that I think about it, I thought Embers Ad Infinitum was worse than Lord of the Mysteries, but it might actually be better than Circle of Inevitability, although Embers probably has the slowest and most dragged out beginning of the three.

Ciel Dubois from Circle of Inevitability is a smartly written smart character. When Ciel kills a hotel room full of three people he books the room next door so he can examine it, finding which walls he can stab and shoot through, what flammable materials there are, whether there is enough space to break-dance, etc. This is a smart thing to do because Ciel is a smart person who is written by another smart person who understands how smart people think.

If Detective Sherlock Moriarty from Lord of the Mysteries were to kill a hotel room full of three people. He'd enter using a secret door in the hotel he found via divination. He'd throw a mystic item infected by True Creator ravings near one guy causing him to lose control. The second person would then immediately die, as planned, as it's a "reasonable development" for the woman to be torn to shreds by the first guy who turned into a mad monster. As for the third man, why Sherlock doesn't kill him at all. Those points are just constructed worst-case scenarios. There are many ways to implement those points correctly, not speaking for CoI here since I want to show why these "points" are retarded from the start:
1. An adult MC that is not a deeply impressionable teenager might really not change much or even at all over the course of the story that takes place in a relatively short time. Not every single fucking story has to be a "coming of age" story.
2./3./4. This is an endless devil triangle issue where someone will always be dissatisfied. You can't have low stakes because you need to have MUH tension, but high tension means the MC has to put his life on the line all the time, but he can't just survive deadly situations all the time because that's plot armor / escaping consequences / too OP, but you can't lower the stakes because of MUH tension, etc.
5. People complain about similar-looking black-haired isekai MCs, but they forgot (or are too young to know) when people made fun of shows where the classrooms were full of normal people and just the relevant characters looked like cosplayers. It was always silly and retarded to argue about uniqueness in designs because that used to be a children show issue. But regression of critical thinking reduced adults to that level as well nowadays, it seems.
