I think Asa will complete her dream after Denji kills her, the end of her nightmare is still a mystery. I think Fumiko's death is a foreshadowing to what happens to Asa. I actually talked to someone IRL about Part 2 with the very few I could find that read it.
Their first complaint was that Denji's character continuously regressed and the story became boring, I then said that "maybe what Fujimoto is going for is a depiction of relapse to bad habits, like a drug addict."
He then replied "Yeah, but no one wants to read that."

Maybe the answer is really that simple, Part 2 could just be dogwater and we're just fooling ourselves.
