Denji choosing to fight for Yoru and living happily forever after with her is a clear path offered to him by someone else, this means the story would end with Denji never really making any decision on his own and just allowing people to lay down a path for him. I feel like there's a reason why out of all these characters that Denji interacted with and gave him options, Asa was the only one to tell him to think for himself and not ask anything out of him, not even to save her.
