Asa and Denji's stories and character concepts are intertwined, you couldn't have her story without him.

I do think that's a general flaw of Part 2's concept to only display Denji's relapse without much else going on, especially after starting with Asa. Part 1 did several things really well to keep an audience entertained, even if you didn't like Denji's character you could enjoy it, if you don't enjoy Denji's characterization in Part 2, you're in for a bad time.

I think part 2 portrays how down bad Denji is very well, he has all this sexual stuff going on, but he was so much happier when he just had Nayuta. She was the only family he had left after part 1. so after losing Nayuta he just went back to relying on carnal desires, remember this last like 50 chapters have happened over a really short timespan. He has no time to change his mind set in this very small amount of time. Yes he keeps regressing but that's because that's the only thing he has left.
This is why I think Asa would be such a good partner for Denji, she is not ready for sex either, Denji definetely isn't ready for sex, but he has little experience with actual love either. He confuses love and lust. If he was in a proper relationship with Asa he would be able to mature more and learn what a relationship should be. Like their date in the aquarium, they had fun together, they worked well together, they were compatible. And even in more recent interactions they still manage to relate to eachother's loneliness and lack of meaning in life. In the aging devil arc Asa even quotes the advice that she gave Denji (about life being a crap burger). Overall, I think Denji's inclusion in this part is important when compared to Asa's own personality and denial of her own need for love. They are both desperate for love, Asa tries to deny it and Denji doesn't even know what love is. They can teach eachother what it is.

Pretty much every other relevant character is either completely apathetic or finds it justified to murder dozens, or even hundreds of thousands of people for the most stupid reasons, which makes Denji look like a saint in comparison.

Asa does also seem to show some concern over what is happening around her, though to a lesser degree than Denji, but she has such little autonomy over her own body that what she thinks doesn't really affect the story in the slightest, as Yoru just takes over and goes around murdering people with no resistance.

It's not really a complex story, Public Safety, Fumiko, Yoshida, Yoru, everyone from the Chainsawman Church who knew what was going on with the Fire Devil contracts or that participated on what happened with Nayuta are monsters who are on an infinitely lower moral ground than Denji who is for the most part a regular dude despite having a few vices that heavily burden him.
Coincidentally, those antagonistic forces also all feel perfectly deserving of having Pochita's erasure abilities to reshape reality at their will.

Fumiko and Denji's interaction in the last chapter perfectly encapsulates all that, she starts casually talking about how she murdered countless people across the entire world, then talks about why she thinks Death should be erased through CSM's powers, then finally once Denji makes a small protest, appeals to his lust.

I doubt Fujimoto has any idea how badly he ruined her and how he comes off as a worse degenerate than Denji. I think the reason Fujimoto doesn't give much focus to Asa is because his character is already established. In the first chapter, Asa had a huge internal monologue about her personality and fears, and then this growth increased even more by leaps and bounds in the following chapters.

I think that's just how the War Devil operates. She never looked comfortable doing things on her own, and was better fit for barking orders at other people. And she was shown lamenting the loss of her comrades on several occasions.
It wouldn't be out of character for her to surround herself with subordinates.
Other Devils would also find her easier to follow than Death/Makima because Yoru shares their passion for violence, chaos and destruction.

And last chapter Fumiko confirmed Death is the one who's murdering the PS also. And she was also right with that there's no reason for AsaRu to go find Denji now just after leaving him lying there. I think Death will send devils/her pawns to fight and lure AsaRu to Denji. But s.o will intervene and AsaRu and Denji won't meet until the school festival. One thing for sure, AsaRu WON'T BE the villain as the fandom hopes for.

Reminder last chapter proved once again, Asa has NO reason to keep devoting to Denji anymore, just as I predicted ofc.

The problem wasn't with bringing Denji back. The real issue is what he DID to Denji. He made him a boring, repetitive, highly unlikeable sped who has negative chemistry with Asa. Part 2 also spent an enormous amount of time on shitty background characters.
