I'm in ecommerce so I've been following this closely, but the impact of this is not yet appreciated by the average consumer.

Set your camera to aperture priority and make sure your photos are being saved in RAW format. Aperture priority is the standard starting mode for camera noobs, good enough for most general photos. Just choose the lowest aperture number possible on your camera and dial it up incrementally depending on how blurred out the background you want is.
