I can excuse the others but this is far by the main reason why many people hate him. Even if Gege somehow redeems him for Mojuro. That damage was irreparable. It was such a critical moment with Gojo dead and Higuruma down. They were banking everything on Megumi finally fighting back but it didn't happen. That was the one and only chance for him to be redeemed and it got squandered.
