the tag force games are pretty grindy to where you have to duel a decent amount to get currency to buy cards and the ai absolutely cheats to make things exciting on the scale of the anime where characters can top deck a mirror force to turn the tide of battle but it's still fun, has light dating sim elements in it and if you don't like tag duels you can still do single duels, the game does give you a decent starting deck in each game though

Why the FUCK did we never get a sequel? GX is the one with the most potential for new stories, arguably, the series' mythos was ONLY BEGINNING during season 4. It was a series that could go on to become a long runner with an extra 100 episodes or more.
Season 3 was the origin of his powers and traumatic backstory, season 4 was a short moment in which he saw him finally be a badass like Atem and accept the responsibility of his powers AAAAND that's where it ends. All the characters become badasses wondering about the future, Judai becomes a wandering superhero who will help the world and can even summon real monsters at will AND YOU END IT THERE?

Even worse, the Paradox movie shows he became EVEN COOLER. Like how the fuck, it's not even Yugioh anymore, he clashes with city-destroying dragons. Give me more of that.

It always amuses me how people shit on the anime duels of the first seasons, as if it wasn't made abundantly clear that most cards are RARE.
Only the Kaiser has Cyber Dragons, which were passed down as a treasure to the best student of a secret martial arts school.
Destiny Heroes are unique to Edo. Elemental Heroes however I'll agree were shown to be generic, but then again, Judai's family is rich, having all the archetype cards is probably not something you could do. Even in real life it was fucking expensive to get all the E Hero cards, even the vanilla and crappy fusions, you'll probably have worse cards than that.
Starter decks aren't a thing there. So you really would just be battling with pack filler which doesn't even include very good cards in the pool, most likely. Yugi did pull Swords of Revealing Light but I doubt they include something like Mirror Force, which was considered a legendary card even in Vrains

All in all, Asuka / Alexis is a top tier duelist with her full blader / skater / dancer archetype, most people just won't have anything nearly as coherent or strong. She happens to Duel the ones that do.

Asuka's actual record isn't even that bad honestly. Given that she's an early GX character on top of being a woman in Yugioh, she actually has a fantastic performance all things considered. Her losses are either to Judai, or she's jobbing under extremely fucked match ups. It's very believable that she's a top duelist.
