On one hand I like Chiyu, on the other Chiyu episodes tend to fall flat because their subject matters tend to be a little more complex.

Summary for the anons that need it, Part 1: Chiyu's family is fawning over her after the recent article was released. Excited that his sister is going places, Touji offers to take over the Ryokan so she can focus on the high jump. Chiyu smiles, but its not sitting well with her. The next day Chiyu is completely distracted, while she is can correctly answer, it takes her moments to answer anyone; of course Nodo and Hina are watching her like a hawk. While Chiyu is at practice, the two watch with worry as Chiyu once again is pushing herself like crazy. Asumi shows up, and the two explains what might be messing with Chiyu. Chiyu soon leaves and gets back to the Inn where she promptly begins cleaning, but Touji stops her and tells her to rest and focus on her High Jump. Things are getting more shaky the following day as Chiyu gets home to a letter from Tsubasa who is excited about her new friends and how she still wants to meet Chiyu on the world stage. As Pegitan attempts talk with her, Chiyu suddenly stands and heads out for a run, rejecting Pegitan's offer to follow. Pegi promptly runs to Nodoka's where the other three are. Nyatoran, apparently the most mature, explains how Chiyu has finely balanced two things in her heart, high jump and innkeeper, and one half has just been ripped out so she is off balance. Latte pulls out their old cheer leading banner they made early on, and this gives Pegi an idea.

Finally, Shindoine. I know she's going to be cleansed soon; there's only 5 episodes before the finale arc begins. Shindoine would be a much better antagonist towards Hinata I feel like as they both fail pretty hard while being pretty heavy opposites. Shindoine fails while being singularly focused, and Hinata fails because she has no fucus. Chiyu can balance and succeed, or even do some adjustment.

So I watched a few more episodes of Wonderful and I'm just not feeling it. Its all.....kind of boring...which is a shame because I really want to like this show. I thought non-combat would be interesting and they would have write new and interesting ways to stop the monsters, like in Kemono Friends, but its basically been chase then hug every time.
I also want more of Mayu and her cat. I think maybe I might like it when they become more prominent characters, but how far away is that? I'm not sure if I can hold off this long...

Time traveler from 2071 here. Precure is alive and well in the present. It's never taken a hiatus. Idol is typically within the top 20 on fan rankings. The 2040s are almost universally considered the golden age for Precure though with the 20s you guys are stuck in being seen as meh in comparison; more than 95 percent of fans have their #1 Precure as being something from the 40s. The 2050s are mostly seen as shit but I actually like 50s Precure for being so weird and experimental. 60s Precure was seen as a return to form but I think the franchise just returned to being overly formulaic and safe.

Interesting backstory but they don't do a whole lot with it. Would've liked to see more adapting to life type stories and more teasing about the mystery of her (and Hikaru's) nature. I remember one anon saying the reason MH goes nowhere and doesn't even chase its main plot device at all for so long is bc NagiNagi and HonoHono actually knew despite never giving any such hints and just didnt want the show to end, which is a silly contrived excuse for the plot going nowhere but also a very cute idea.
