Ive been reading the manga and the first fights are really disappointing tactics wise
The author just explains some yugioh move that out of nowhere gives the good guys the advantage with zero justification or wit. It really makes the """fights""" pointless as a plot element.
Also every bad guy turns out to be good natured 5 mins later or something to that effect.

I don't think these are fair because they're just introducing powers that will get used as the series goes on. It's like saying Star Platinum punching really fast is a yugioh move right when it's introduced.

Because of that dandadanS1 is better because all of the arcs are shorter and to the point, letting you enjoy each new silly situation before it becomes too stale, Evil Eye arc is a 8-ish episode long arc that overstays the novelty effect and makes the season feel dragged out.

Dandadan would unironically be better if it was just a MotW manga where arcs didnt last more than 8 chapters or so.

We don't even know how their normal schedules together could take place because things on-page accelerated so much since they meet Vamola by a few weeks?

The soccer stuff alone: we see it manifested just once in Evil Eye first taking over Jiji and Okarun trying to hold them down, but this can be just assumed by Turbo Granny enhancing Okarun. You'd think that activity would be brought up later as something that affects their battle abilities, but it never does thanks to this acceleration. The closest we get now: Jiji makes a recent minor penalty joke. Tatsu could only highlight Okarun battle together with Kinta in thise examples because they're in the same group split from the Ayases who just so happens to need Jiji as the muscle to guard them safely.

The fanbook seems like it should've not been released in the first place but rather an internal guide for Tatsu himself to write stories around his characters. The sad thing is I have high doubts if whoever's doing future anime seasons are willing to explain that out for the benefit of viewers avoiding the manga's same mistakes (re: Okarun's mind-controlled suicide attempt changed to mutilation by self-transformation in the anime)...

When chapter 92 happened, self inserters got so MAD that Jiji was put in the backseat for a while. I believe Jiji was supposed to feel more like a genuine love rival than he does, and probably the conflict was going to be that Okarun realized that his best friend was competing for the same girl and feeling conflicted and dramatic about it (somewhat like Momo fighting with Aira over Ken). But since self inserters can't take a tiny bit of drama it got dropped, and so did Jiji overall for a few arcs.

It definitely is an internal guide. Not for Tatsu, but for Science Saru. Saru adds great character developing filler (which OkaJiji desperately needs). If they added scenes like they did Kinta where he has a reason to approach Okarun instead of roasting him out of nowhere, that'd help Jiji and Ken's bromance massively
