I live on the poor end of my town and my family lives on the more middle-class side. Walking home late at night you'd be surprised at how few high-end cars parked on main streets have parking tickets vs how many shitboxes on side streets in the poor section have them. I figure the wealthy people have enough affluence to get out of paying them while poor people can never fight a ticket and just pay up. The city needs its money and they know where to get it.

Reality check. There were a couple of studies being paid for by the EU. Their goal was to prove that piracy hurts the markets. The results were negative. So they never released them. Which isnt surprising. In general people who pirate would not otherwise purchase. They are solely freeloaders. Grabbing what they can because it was FREE.
