Any fans of UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE here who particularly like how Toby Fox employs leitmotifs to enhance various scenes? So I was thinking, I've been following One Piece for a good while now, started watching it during Punk Hazard, and then shifted to the manga and have been on and off following it weekly ever since. One thing about the anime is that while the music was very powerful, since the anime had time and budget constraints, they couldn't really do much with it as an integral part of the story. So maybe, in like 30 years, once both the manga and anime are finished (I can swear that Oda will not drag OP into a shippuden/Boruto shitfest), maybe some studio could pick it up from the start again and do the animation and music some justice. It would add a lot of depth I think and I hope that it happens if One Piece manga's ending ends up being as impactful as I think it will be. What do you guys think?

Why haven't we gotten another One Piece film lately?
With how well RED did, you'd assume they'd want to shit out another as soon as possible.

Roger was almost a mythical being. If you look at him from the episode one he just seems so much bigger so much more important so mysterious and yet also so very human. His giant statue was overbearing for any human, but in the one piece world he was almost an average size. Of course we did not know this, but in the first episode episodes in the first parts Roger was truly this enigmatic creature. We only saw him as glimpse from still images of flashbacks from people talking about him.

Many people may not now know, but back in the day equation Roger with even people like white beard was almost a sin. Gol D. Roger was above everybody else; he was the pirate king.

He was the only pirate king.

He was the barometer for which Luffy was supposed to be better than. The fact that the world government took a fight with the world’s strongest man, white beard, just to kill Ace, son of the world most notorious pirate. They lost thousands of men and destroyed the balance of power. Because of Roger legacy.

They say never meet your heroes and they are correct. Because mystery is derived from the unknown. And when a character is front and center, he cannot always be mysterious and cool, there must be some characters in him that must be shown. And this will inevitably cause Roger to lose his aura.

I won’t blame oda for this, because in a way it’s not really his fault. It’s just laws and rules of narrative writing. He had to give some glimpse of the future since he wanted to make some sort of parallels with the first second third world mythos he’s going for. To me it’s still a sad experience that when we look back at Roger, we will never see the guy that smiled at face of death while he was impaled by just two regular humans. We will never have to imagine what he was thinking or what he was like or any of those sort because his image has been permanently ruined.

Oda was just inspired by the Three Kings from YuYu Hakusho but over time realized it didn't make any sense. They were described as being three powers in a stalemate against each other, not three powers cleaning up all the lesser pirates. The Shichibukai were described as a piracy deterrent from the beginning because they're privateers: they work for the World Government. The Yonkou don't, so how are they also doing the same thing? If the Yonkou are allowed to exist because they fulfill the same role as the Shichibukai without needing to have their bounty frozen, then why form the Shichibukai to begin with? Clearly, pirates will fight other pirates on their own.

Do you get what I'm saying? The Shichibukai all say things along the lines of joining to keep the Marines off their back so they can rule islands in relative peace, but the Yonkou do that without a truce with the World Government. If the explanation is that they want pirates acting this way, then they could've gotten it out of the Shichibukai by just leaving them alone, just like the Yonkou, right? The only way this makes sense is if the Shichibukai are weak enough for the Marines to handle if they act out of line, but the Yonkou aren't.

Of course now we're told the Celestial Dragons are all immortal Admiral tier badasses, so now no explanation makes sense.
