Actually, what would be even more fitting for Benjamin is if his body is entirely rejuvenated, but his soul dies to give control over to his son. Halkenburg reasoned both the body and soul had value to the succession, and I don't really want to see Benjamin inside a baby, nor would I be satisfied with him simply surviving at his child's cost. I think it suits Benjamin more to literally hand his place in the contesr over to his child (passing the "Benjamin Baton"). Benjamin cares about his body, obviously, and he's supposed to be the opposite of Halkenburg.

Why didn’t Togashi just make Tserrienich the only prince and focused on Kurapika’s conflict? Adding all these princes does nothing. The writing of the arc doesn’t have enough depth to warrant the complexity setup. You can tell having to balance so much characters has ruined Togashi’s character writing.

If you imagine him fighting Uvogin as an example. What exactly is he going to do against someone who can tank an RPG while he is stuck in zetsu? Sure it's good for dodging attacks, except that any half decent nen user is going to see him go into zetsu over and over just before he teleports and simply emit an AOE blast of aura that instantly ends the fight the next time he does it.
Tse really needs a conjured weapon that remains usable in zetsu and can fuck people up. Something like the Fun Fun Cloth would be perfect.

Everything about the Kakin military suggests that they really do have a comparable knowledge base for nen as the Hunter Association despite their feelings on the matter. It's not like any single member of Benjamin's crew or the Old lady in Camilla's camp demonstrates a lack of awareness compared to hunters. Their mafia as well is incredibly well equipped for nen warfare.

Benjamin liking the short path to victory is less about him being inexperienced, and more about him being pig headed. Needing a strong advisor isn't a huge flaw here, HxH just usually has major antagonists who make better decisions without them. But Benjamin presents a different threat because he'll pull shit like Martial Law when backed into a corner.

The reality is, why would Tserriednich be fighting someone to Uvogins caliber in the first place? He’s a king, not a warrior. None of V5 seem tohave to worry about The troupe caliber nen users coming to murder them, and neither will tsneed if he survives the boat.

His GSB already does this and doesn't require constant zetsu which makes him vulnerable to any basic AOE nen attack.

So what’s the estimate on how much chapters are left. It’s a 2 months trip and we haven’t reached a month yet. Most princes are still alive. Hisoka hasn’t fought a single troupe member yet. A Beyond baby hasn’t gone off yet. Camilla’s curse users hasn’t done anything yet. Morena hasn’t done anything notable yet except play a card game. Bork is still at the lowest level.
But Benjamin has started marital law. And we could get timeksips.

I can’t tell if we’re still a long ways from the home run or we’re close to it. The only hope that the pace would fasten is Benjamin’s martial law but we have no idea how that will go.

Not terrible compared to a lot of abilities because you can safely transmute all the aura on your body that doesn't cover your face, but it requires emission to use effectively (as a transmuter your emission isn't great). It also requires that your opponent gets hit specifically in the face and also doesn't hold their breath. To actually land it you would really like to use emission and manipulation to have to it home at your enemy's nose and mouth and at that point you'd be better off being a manipulator who controls chloroform or some other poisonous gas instead.

Needs emission to work at all as if you light it while it's attached to you, you'll burn to death. You could also conjure a flamethrower that uses it as fuel, but that means your ability is almost completely reliant on another category and it has little use outside of that.

Well Trasmutting is also the ability to shape your aura. Hisoka is able to "throw" threads of bungee gum because they are still attached to him. So for the super chloroform it'D be like manipulating a cloud. Plus by using En, which expands your aura further than normal, you could at least hit a whole room with your gas.

Hell, expanding on this... since some gas can have different light colors depending on their electron structure... you could go crazy and like making your gas change color to an absurd degree depending on the concentration of aura you put in it... making it a smokescreen!

Pair it up with En and you effectively have a way to blind an opponent and limit their breating (and movements).

If you're in a 1v1 without knowing he got King Crimson, you're fucked the mojority of the times unless you have some kind of automatic ability or you're an emitter with a wide range constant ability.
The moment King Crimson's ability is known, there's plenty of ways to counter it. Especially if you know the zetsu condition.
Actually, the zetsu condition is quite a handicap because the moment you prevent it, you shut down Tse from the get go. Actually... King Crimson SEEMS to perform well with the nen beast because at all times Tse has something protecting him, but once you get how his powers go, having the nen beast around is the biggest hint Tse isn't using his powers.
The moment the nen beast disappears you know time shenanigans are about to issue.

Many chapters. My guess is that 411-420 will mostly flash back to the lead up to martial law. We know the first few chapters will be about Kurapika’s Nen class and probably show Camilla’s guard cursing Woble. One of the later chapters also has Nobunaga in the sewage center. We’ll probably also see whatever Halkenburg did that led to Benjamin getting poisoned. Then I expect actual martial law to last at least 20 chapters and NOT be the end of the arc. There are too many other big players who benefit from waiting until martial law is over instead of making a move now. Like, we know from Kaiser’s monologue that he’s stalling until Benjamin dies, so whatever Kaiser has planned will be after martial law. Transmuters are the rarest in the manga, so it's hard to get an idea of what's possible, but I think there's five problems fans face when considering Transmutation abilities:

1. If Machi and Hisoka didn't exist, would anyone think making your aura sticky and elastic is OP, or that you'd be able to do superhuman bullshit with Nen threads? Fans will always err on the side of keeping abilities underpowered, so the less data we have, the weaker people will imagine potential abilities to be.

2. Transmutation is next to Enhancement, so a Transmuter doesn't need a crazy ability, they can just use their aura to augment their physical capabilities and fight people. With that in mind, you would imagine that the manga would be full of Transmuters who just make their aura dense or sharp, similar to all the Emitters who have some variation of blasting. For some reason, Togashi doesn't do this, and this creates confusion among fans. Instead of coming up with simple abilities, people think they need to create some big brain bullshit, since apparently Togashi does, too.

3. There's nothing wrong with using other categories in your ability. Almost all of the good abilities do. Fans feel like this is admitting defeat, though.

4. There's a whole plethora of traits that sound cool but don't make sense for transmuting, because aura already has default traits and you can hurt yourself with more volatile traits.

5. Transmutation most likely has more depth than we realize. For example, shaping your aura is Transmutation. Also, Biscuit conjures a chick to give you a massage, even without lotions and oils. It's most likely this has something to do with tactile sensations. I doubt Biscuit is manipulating Cookie-chan's precise finger presses, but is instead mimicking the feeling of the massage using aura. I think Togashi might explore this with the hacker girl in Morena's gang. Finally, several Transmuters seem to convert other kinds of energy or feelings into aura.

I think narratively it also makes sense for Benjamin to not make it to the end-game since he's a roid-raging retard and Togashi obviously doesn't think he'd make a good leader. The first thing we saw from him on the ship was him boiling with rage that the only logical strategy to this game was for him to murder all his siblings with his bare hands. He then ripped his shirt off and stormed out. Balsamilco had to calm him down and make him see reason, and in his head he considered Benjamin a careful thinker so long as he was by his side. And he is no longer by his side. So...

But I wouldn't count Benjamin out yet, his GSB hasn't done anything and it was obviously modelled with his hidden baby in mind. His Nen ability is also a pun on a book about a man who ages backwards. We don't know what trick his GSB is going to pull, but it might keep him in the game.

As for being killed off too early, again, we have no idea when Benjamin will die or if he will die, but it makes sense Benjamin likely will die. He has been the driver of the majority the conflict so far and is almost a stopgap for progression. At a certain point Togashi had to move past the “nobody can do shit because Benjamin’s guards have authority to be in the rooms to assassinate people”, and martial law serves as a natural way to move the plot forward and on to more interesting things.

Exactly. It felt like it was only part of the story to give the batch a cliffhanger, kind of a waste since he’s the princess’s top dog. But then again, there’s still going to be the flashback and all. Still, it felt a bit rushed for him to go out in the first week of the journey. It would’ve been more interesting to see his inner circle slowly being chipped away until his downfall.

It’s funny how the hiatus not only messes with the story’s rhythm but also with the overall enjoyment of the manga. It’s sad that we can’t have the pleasure of slower arcs anymore, even if Togashi wanted to, because it’s just too nerve-racking to have them when you know there are only a few chapters left before the next hiatus.

On paper I might agree but I think a nen ability that already has variable powers it can manifest is doing the most. Add on mind control as a tertiary effect and I think it's doing too much. It's a logical fear to have as even Tserriednich clocked onto the potential risks of letting a nen user give you anything. But I mind the possibility of Zhang's coins doing just that because seems really cheap to have someone who can give powers be able to control the people they give powers too for the purposes of the story. Pouf was handing out powers to the Chimera Ants and their ability to betray them afterwards was accounted for by the Royal Guards, but also instrumental in the survival of the extermination squad since Ikalgo, Meleron, and even Welfin wound up helping out.

Morena technically does use manipulation for Etude of Darkness, but only in the context of a game where she doesn't want cheating. As far as we know Borksen is truly free to do whatever she wants and the current drama is whether she will be able to find a way to off Morena and her crew before they either decide to take her out to clear up space, or maybe the Kakin military kills Borksen.

If Zhangcoin does control someone it might fit his personality, but I hope it's only a way to keep coin holders from taking overt action against Zhang.

Because Togashi decided that the manipulation required for Godspeed is simple enough that a transmuter like Killua can manage it, it is better as a transmutation ability overall.

I assume that you chose which part of your aura is transmuted. Killua wasn’t always 100% covered in electricity. Quite doable. Imagine if you do like Hisoka and point at your opponent’s face while monologuing. Add some In to your aura and boom you have a high chance of instant knockout. Or most users extend their aura up to one meter around themselves while fighting (unless retracting it to protect a part of yourself quickly), so if you go close there’s a chance that you can knock out your opponent.

Some gas can have colors visible to the human eye, even if it very faint. Transmuting allows you to push that property to the extreme. And honestly any smokescreen blinds everyone counting the user too. It’s just that whenever you uses it you assume that either you circumvented the problem, or that your opponent is even more destabilized than you.

Zushi managed to become a floor master apparently and participated in the tournament, and also neither chrollo nor Hisoka made an appearance. The latter was because he thought that all the other floor masters were jobbers.

I always thought that this unexplored part of world building would be better. Like the top floor masters could perhaps pose a challenge to the royal guards, if not individually then at least by working together

I feel like people are really overestimating Tserriednich's role in this story. I'm also of the opinion that "no longer human" literally means being turned into a monster but that's a very unsubtle power and not suited for kingdom. She could spam her power and didn't care about hiding since she took over a whole chunk of Meteor city.

It could be that his baby dies in his place or he survives inside his baby's body, but I think it's more fitting if his baby inherits his body. Halkenburg reasoned that both the body and soul mattered for the succession, so Benjamin's child could take his place so long as he has his body. This would be the opposite of Halkenburg.

This is once again, a much more gimped feature others do vastly better. HalkenCHAD's power can be played off given the right wording and anyone who isn't loyal no memory of the attack (if they can even see it to begin with) and has no proof something happened after 10 minutes. And he can just confide in those marked about what really happened and as we've seen, they joined his plans right there and then.

Whore Horse was birthed from a guy who is a serial killer that operates in isolation. Right now we've got a very intimate exchange between it and Theta which is his wheelhouse. What happens when Tserriednich is in a room full of people trying to negotiate things and one by one different people start to get scratches? What happens when people start to associate "being around Tserriednich" with a kind of plague as others start to develop those rashes on their body? Everyone will remember it happening and he doesn't have that convenient an excuse to fall back on as "Mass Syncope".

And there's the problem that someone that gets 3 strikes is probably never be allowed out in public again if they become a misshapen creature. He can afford to kill college aged girls in a hotel suites, but he can't afford to have the public officials and political rivals disappearing with what would become alarming frequency.

The problem with it being someone who showed up for the Nen class is they weren't there for the initial killings, but Kurapika and Furykov reason they MUST be in the room, even though they know they clearly weren't at the beginning. Lots of people have pointed out that Mystery Writing 101 says you shouldn't have these competent Nen users be wrong in their deduction, but Furykov already was wrong once: he thought Longhi has to be the assassin, and now that she isn't, he's stumped. I'm sure Kurapika and Bill can put their heads together and come up with similar deductions as Furykov, plus they have the added benefit of lie detection on their side. The first week of classes ended and they didn't find the killer. Granted, some people left early, and the killings also stopped.

The part that makes it even more confusing is Kurapika and, I assume, Furykov know the assassin wasn't in the room for the initial killings. That's not information secret to us, Kurapika was there when they got cleaned out. So why does he think the assassin needs to be there now?

It honestly doesn't make sense, and to make things even more confusing, this world has Nen. As readers, you and I can come up with any number of crazy ways a Nen user might assassin people without literally being in the room, to the naked eye, but the characters in the story itself don't really pay heed to that. This happens a lot in Hunter x Hunter when, logically, what could've happened could've been a million different things, but the characters somehow reason it must be one or two and one of those is always correct. Fans just give Togashi the benefit of the doubt that the characters know Nen better than we do, but as time goes on that becomes harder and harder to believe.

Is it possible that Kurapika and Furykov simply aren't reasoning that the killer uses an invisible doll to conjure the snakes? I wouldn't come to that conclusion. In that sense, the killer really is in the room, it's the doll.

This arcs climax will have even more contrived philosophical garbage than even the chimera ant arc. You can tell in the random monologues about politics and balance Togahsi has multiple characters do, especially Nasubi.

I think Tserriednich's GSB does more than simply twist the human for lying the way Zazan does with the injection. The second beast first appears after he kills someone in his room and given his GSB's warning to Theta I think it's reasonable to assume Theta will be converted into another nen beast. The design of his GSB sort of softly suggests this by baring resemblance to the Kakin girls we see him kill in his introduction, implying that this is to be the fate of his victims.

What I thought was going to happen was Tserriednich getting good enough at his Blink + Zetsu timing to go below and try tackling Morena Prudo and farming the Heil-ly for a bit before biting it to the troupe. Every since Martial Law was announced I lost the plot because Tserriednich is apparently under arrest and I don't know if that's an illusion he's keeping up through prolonged King Crimson or not. There's also Borksen and her people who knew him and might try reaching out to him at any point.

I cannot predict what is going to happen with him anymore and I don't have any strong desires about his character since I do find him pretty lackluster.

I wouldn't assume correlation == causation here. If his GSB had to mark Theta and fulfill the 3 strike condition to change her, we can definitely say that this didn't happen to Morena's Butler. That guy got the medieval treatment and neither Theta nor Slakov comment on the Butler suddenly turning into something else. I think it's just because Tserriednich was at a good point in his training as well as given a new goal that his latent genius triggered a personal hatsu.

The fact that it's a nen beast isn't surprising because I would also consider Neon's lovely ghost a nen beast, so it's likely that precognition abilities typically utilize a medium.

No he doesn't, all we know is that he has to input what he's looking for in the phone ability, and then it tries to search for it in a limited range. He already did the same in Heaven's Arena previous fight against Hisoka and didn't find any match, reason why he had to come up with something else and mix all those abilities.
His input can be something as simple as "An ability to defeat Hisoka", "An ability that counters Bungee Gum" or "An ability that does xxxx in specific", and then the phone looks for it.
It doesn't have to be Kurapika at all, in fact it most likely won't be since his ability isn't one that can easily defeat Hisoka. It will most likely be from one of the princes.

Furykov might not be 100% correct on things but I think his ability to notice changes in aura can be trusted to a large degree. He could see Loberry had been partially awakened by her possession and he could tell Longhi's was hiding her power-level despite her skill in aura control as well as her aura being mixed in with Kurapika's and assumed the nature of her ability nearly spot-on. But he couldn't tell that Bill's was mixed in with the uninitiated students. So it's obviously not perfect, but he can potentially clear up some options here.

I'll maintain the idea that possessing someone requires a physical contact of some kind. Either by hand or by a specific tool the SM user has (like Kurapika's chain syringe). So whoever is planting the doll likely has to gain proximity to each of the possessed targets.

So it would either have had to be someone in his nen study group (the 3 different hand gestures) that has managed to thwart Furykov's perception this whole time, or one of the two aids that would be floating between the groups (Furykov or Belerainte).

As boring as the theory is, and I say this as a former Mushaho theorist for Silent Majority. Even if I don't know his motives I think Belerainte as a suspect works here. He could have tagged any of the Pariston hunters prior to the voyage to get SM into 1014. And he's present on all of Kurapika's classes for the rest. Why he's doing all this makes no sense. Maybe he works for Pariston and was told to troll the new Rat Zodiac?

It at first appears reactive, and its initial demonstration is reactively defensive.
But it's actually flawlessly offensive.
He gets 10 seconds to initiate battle in whatever way he wants.

Chrollo could capture in the cloth (his initial objective) or fatally poison both, before the battle even began (cut there necks rather than a glancing slash at the arm), if they weren't able to anticipate the ability and Chrollo's effective range.
