I think Togashi is fully aware that no other mangaka has the gig he has and is fully taking advantage of being allowed to scope his entire ambition. The problem is we’ll never see that ambition come to fruition.

Don’t get me wrong, it still would be excellent . Togashi wrote some of the best Shonen arcs while being a weekly slave. But , it’s not a coincidence that Togashi’s big ambitious arcs started with the Ant arc, which is where he had some of his lengthiest hiatus (besides the SW)

You do know that Togashi only posts inked pages. There steps to do after inking, including sending off his work to a distant and doing a final check with the editor. 410-420 are probably getting worked on by the assistants right now. It’s just that inking is the majority of Togashi’s work so when he posts the page it’s a big step of progress.
He and jump also have to set a date for his come back. It’s not random, it’s usually when another wsj series end or is axed. And he still has to do a volume cover and color page (though he may have done those already)

As in, if we had to go through every arc he’s written in all his series, I think the succession war would be the closest to his preferred style of writing. With the lengthy planning, monologues, text, analysis, etc. I wouldn’t be shocked if Togahsi orgasmed after writing Chrollo vs Hisoka

I also think the DC will have similar writing style to the succession war. People expect some pure adventure but I think we’re gonna spend chapters using nen to analyze plants and shit and make plans to avoid the classified

During the Gotoh vs Hisoka fight, is it supposed to be that while Hisoka was flying around the forest he was also setting up strands of bungee gum connected between the coins he got from Gotoh and Gotoh himself, and these strands were also hidden using In? I'm of the opinion that this is a pretty literal comparison. I think the reason Hisoka is so well informed and is in an upper section of the ship is because he got scouted by Morena who used her position to get him on board. It's likely they planned to set Hisoka loose on the lower levels knowing it would actively trigger the spiders as well as drag the military into the fray if he started going wild. But if we assume that Kaiser is a manipulated person, the "joker" could also be activating a number of other Manchurian candidates to start other issues for the boat.

This is one hundred percent the reason of his hiatuses, he changed his writing style to this intricate and technical style he currently writes in Greed Island, and that's where the histuses started, and while it has delivered incredible arcs it also comes at a cost, that being time and writers block. I know this because I have similar blocks in reasoning in my profession, which is programming, and sometimes out of nowhere my brain just makes everything click like a eureka moment in a puzzle, and this is how Togashi writes his stories, he prepares a scenario without a obvious outcome and writes his way out of it.

The only two people who want or have the role of Organ are Matvere and Perigord. I doubt the instant hatsu crew have multiple powers so the Organ is probably something the specialist Morena wants to recruit will have to facilitate.

Nah the most realistic use of rage in fiction was Youpi discovering you can have serenity in the most boiling parts of your mind to concentrate your rage on the targets at hand.

We get chapters spanning maybe 30 in-universe minutes where the mindless brute Youpi is having the biggest fight of his 2-month old life. We already know he's a shapeshifter, but he discovers he can harness his rage to create explosions. If he could master it he could use it as a weapon against the human invaders. After being attacked by Killua he comments on how nen is enabling people far weaker than himself to compete against him which foreshadows a future shift in his worldview. When he finally gains control over his rage he's able to quarantine it so it can be "focused on a target."

He's accomplished his goal, but instead of using it to destroy the intruders as he originally planned, the quarantined rage no longer clouds his judgment, which forces him to view the intruders and himself from a different perspective. He's developed a sense of honor and respect for the intruders he once thought of as weaklings. It's because of Youpi's admiration that he strikes a deal and lets them walk.

It ties into CA's overarching theme about what it means to be human and it mirrors similar changes undergone by the other ants. Togashi made us believe that Knuckle's confrontation with Youpi hinged on a specific technique that would weaken and obliterate the enemy when in fact the technique was only successful because the ant we once thought of as a brute used its removal as a bargaining chip. In Togashi fashion my expectations were subverted.

It's a set up for later pay off. Kalluto wants Killua's approval, but Killua is neglecting him the same way he neglected Alluka. Killua doesnt want to be heir or an assassin at all. NTA, I disagree. Killua warping away Illumi (instead of of killing him) was the ultimate rejection of his family. It's in part why I think there's no issue with Illumi dying on the ship, as I don't think there's anything else that needs to be done or said regarding that relationship. I think Killua and Kalluto could have some sort of interaction, but I don't see Killua coming anywhere close to joining his family's trade.

I just can't get over the fact that Togashi built up strongly to the dark continent with the Chimera ant arc and Ging telling Gon about how big the world really is. And then this is what we get. The worlds slowest manga until an inevitable cancellation once he croaks. Like I'd at least understand monthly, since Togashi has the mysterious japanese illness, but dude just disappears all the goddamn time. We've gone nowhere in over a decade. It's not like Togashi is producing Miura level art, his first drafts which release before getting touched up always look half finished. What the fuck is his problem?

It’s clearly the first option for him, and I don’t see it changing. Doesn’t matter if Togashi isn’t Miura, to Togashi, doing part of the art is a no contest. If he can’t do part of the art, he’s not creating manga.
My suggestion is to move on from this series as a priority. Come back whenever he releases chapters, and cast it aside when he isn’t. Togashi isn’t the first or the last mangaka to have major pride.

Yes. Knuckles notes that when Gon activates his hatsu his Actual Aura Power (A.A.P) in his fist went up about 200 from his base 1800. It can more easily be seen with other enhancers like Phinks where their aura output drastically shoots up for an attack.

Ryu is the time it takes to move aura proportions around. It shouldn't get slower just because the user is making an attack but it would require good training to keep up with things. Naturally the less aura you have distributed to a location the weaker that spot is.

The octopus thing was weird.
The Palm thing was weird.
Meruem was too OP.
The zodiacs were nowhere to be seen and Netero worked with Zeno Zoldyck instead for some reason.
The Phantom Troupe should have had given a bigger amount of panel time throughout the chapter instead of getting a couple of chapters at the end of the arc.

In this case probably not, or if yes it becomes a delay that depends on the skill of the user. Ko means all aura in one point but if Hisoka uses bungee gum he's just converting that quantity with transmutation at presumably 0 cost or a negligible one. Maybe a poor transmuter loses aura when shifting aura properties like Gon was said to spend more aura for less gain when using Paper.

It also seems the case like with Gon that triggering hatsu would temporarily increase aura output for the user.
