From this it seems like:
1- Kaiki considered it a bit of his duty to collect the Devil's parts. This might or not be further expanded upon in Tsugimonogatari, no idea.
2 - He can appear to be totally omniscient at times. Knowing Numachi is a ghost, knowing everyone's connections and motives which is weird. Then again, he's the narrator yadda yadda.
3 - He passes on the duty of collecting the parts to Numachi with an unclear motive. It could be that he doesn't want to do it. It could be that he wanted Suruga to take it up after Numachi, since that's what she seems to want to do by the end of Hana.
Of course collecting the parts like Numachi did into herself and collecting the parts like Kaiki or Suruga aimed to do are a bit different.
There is also the unknown issue of what Izuko and Tooe wanted for Suruga and if Kaiki goes along or against their wishes in the end.

It's a bunch of notes I took while reading through Tsugimonogatari. For those who wish to brave into spoilers, I THINK this is the first complete English "summary" of the book, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not.

I would like them to slow down enough so that dense books get the treatment they deserve. Kizu cutting monologues might have been a design choice but they were in a hurry with some arcs like Kabuki and from what you said, Zoku. If something is dense then they should give it the episodes it deserves imo.

Tsugi alone is making me want to read all the novels so I can catch up. I don't know why but everything up until Family Season didn't particularly rush me to read it. It is kind of weird that you'll even hear about English people who spend a long time in Japan doing this still. I'm a fully native English speaker, and can understand how to turn that off to speak Japanese (although I don't really do it a lot). It is rather straight forward, sounds better, and makes it easier in some ways. I just mimick the way I hear the Japanese speak, like I'd switch for Spanish in highschool Spanish class. But I suppose a lot of people simply aren't good at doing this. Does anyone have any insight on the naming of the swords 心渡 and 夢渡 ?
More specifically why does one kill oddities while the other one restores them based on the names.
One "crosses over" the heart, mind or spirit and the other one "crosses over" dreams.
I don't have much of an explanation myself apart from vague stuff like:
心渡 affecting the heart and mind as the mechanisms/organs that relate to how one perceives oddities. It can forcefully interact with such perceptions to forcefully sever concepts from consciousness so to speak.
Then for 夢渡 you have the place where oddities can originate, in dreams, containing images, ideas and emotions that can give rise to "concepts". It forcefully severs these concepts from the mere consciousness to revive and create oddities.

Idk Monogatati logic doesn't work like a shonen manga. You have to analyze the characters and what they represent to even begin to speculate on how things interact with each other.
Originally the Rainy Devil was Tooe's version of Oshino Ougi. Well, Ougi is the cheap imitation in a way. Just as Araragi is hard on himself and towards others subconsciously, Tooe seems to have had a similar issue with her extreme self discipline worldview manifesting itself into the Devil. In her case she didn't choose to embrace or celebrate that part of herself moving forward, but instead changed completely as a person (presumably after marriage) symbolically exterminating the oddity.
With Numachi you just have a ghost oddity that is defined as a misfortune-collector trying to gather the parts of a dead oddity for the purpose of containing it. In that sense maybe nothing would happen and the dead oddity would be locked away in Numachi. Kanbaru said that Numachi had little use for wishes and you can kind of see that being true with how big of a ball of negativity she is.

It is never going to be finished anon. It is too profitable and beloved. It pretty much single handedly guides multiple anime genres such as moe, ecchi, paranormal, and other otaku stuff. Many tropes originate from it. As for watch order, it isn't that weird. You are probably more confused by the plot jumping back and forth in time. Which works out well and also is honestly fun because it means nothing is truly off the table. If you really love Araragi's highschool years for instance, you never know when Nisio could decide to return to them.

It's my favorite anime, i go desert island i choose this one because i derive endless enjoyment from its cinematographic tricks and rhythms, sound design, narrative themes and plots, witty dialogues, the minutia of every single character's voice acting (all-stars picked for the show in which characters can hold a 20minute long conversation) and of course the tasteful erotic scenes. We are miles away from some common panty shot fest. The ambiguity of the setting, the texture of this realistic fantasy, the layers of wordplay: i have timed my reactions and any episode activates my neurons and pulls me in within 1:30 minutes.

Not everything. Most of the time the image is not even animated but the 2D cameraman moves the shots in crazy ways and succeeds at imparting action to the scenes which is otherwise just not there. Get fooled by the movie magic.

Deconstructing is just a buzzword that is often erroneously applied to things by psueds. Monogatari is different and odd, but it never feels pretentious. It is, in fact, quite honest as far as media goes. It just does what is entertaining. As for dialogue, it isn't that hard to understand. If you do miss it, while you'd miss out on a piece, there is more still. Any given scene is layered with so many different gags and details. Both from the author and from additional stuff the studio adds. It is pretty much impossible you won't be picking up on something.

It comes off as very pretentious if you're looking at the individual pieces and not the whole. In reality, it's the type of series where they'll gloss over an important plot point with two lines of dialog, then spend 10 minutes talking about the author's shower thoughts because that's what he was more interested in writing about that day. Or constantly make bad puns during dramatic scenes because the author felt the puns were more important than the plot. Or a character who isn't in the book otherwise will randomly appear for one chapter because he wasn't really sure what to write next.

Monogatari looks like it has pretense, but it has none. The author very much keeps his feet on the ground at all times, never forgetting that it's just something he writes for fun. Hell, in a later book he basically goes "actually, this story was supposed to be a two-parter, but I finished it in one book.
